Homeschooling in Kentucky

Just wondering if anyone can give me any information on homeschooling in the state of Kentucky? I have a 13 month old and one on the way. I know that this is kind of early to be worrying about school for them. But, I want to get all the information that I can before time for them to start school. I am wanting to homeschool them. I have a question...I heard someone say that in Kentucky you have to have a room in your home that is set aside for nothing else but homeschooling. Is that true? Or can you use any room as long as there is ample space for them to study and do homework and have quiet time? Anyone know? Also, what is a good website to order homeschooling supplies from? Thanks.

I live in KY and don't know much about home schooling but I have had some friends and people I know do it. They did not need a special room or anything. Usually the people that I know did it had a group and a bunch of the kids would study together and be taught by the parent(s) in a class room like setting in the home.

The other option to look at in KY is that around Lexington and some of the bigger cities there are private church schools. I can think of two or three off the top of my head in Lexington that are Protestant church schools up to at least 5th grade.

Is there a state homeschooling association? That is how I got information for the requirements in our state...I think I googled "homeschooling in OK" and went from there.

The Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) is a good resource for any questions regarding the legality of homeschooling. Their website is www.hslda.org. Sorry I don't know anything about your state, but I hope that'll help!
