Start here Genesis Chapter 6 and read to Chapter 9 and that should answer a vast majority of your questions

    Re: Questions about Noah's Ark

    1. Noah had faith in God, and did not yield to the rampant wickedness of his contemporaries. [Genesis 6.8-13]
    2. Noah built the ark. [Genesis 6.13-22] Maybe his sons helped as well, but the text does not say.
    3. God. [Genesis 6.13]
    4. Himself, his wife, his three sons, and his three sons' wives. [Genesis 6.10; 7.1,7]
    5. It's safe to assume that they were in separate containers. Or, perhaps, God kept the animals content, since he can and does direct animals to do things according to his will.
    6. No, there were no sea creatures on the ark. Only land creatures and flying creatures. [Genesis 6.19-20; 7.2-3,14-16]
    7. One side of the text says 40 days, with an additional period of 14 days [Genesis 7.17; 8.6,10,12] Another side says 150 days. [Genesis 7.24; 8.3]
    8. He put it there beforehand. [Genesis 6.21]
    9. None that are mentioned in the text.
    10. Presumably Middle-Eastern. He was not of any nationality that we know of, since Genesis 10 describes all post-flood ancient nationalities as coming from his three sons.
    11. We don't know, since the text doesn't say, and it's ultimately not important.
    12. n/a
    13. How any ancient boat store food for extended periods of time. Additionally, it's possible that God divinely preserved food for the inhabitants of the ark, though the text does not say as much.
    14. Not much. Floods stories were common in regions which were prone to flooding. Big surprise, they all contain... A divine flood. And a boat. And people on the boat. Not much else in common.
    15. Either Noah (and/or his sons?) gathered them up, or God divinely guided the animals to join Noah. (See response number 5.)
    16. Presumably himself, his sons, and maybe their wives.
    17. Presumably somewhere in the ancient, pre-flood equivalent of the Middle East.
    18. You already asked this in question 2.
    19. The text says it was less than 100 years between when Noah received the command to build the ark, and when the flood waters actually began to come. [Genesis 5.32; 7.6]

I read Genesis 6 to 9 and here are how it appears to answer my questions:

    1) Why was Noah selected to be in command of the ark?
God selected him because he was righteous

    2) Who built the ark?
    Noah

    3) Who informed Noah he would be in command of the ark?
    God

    4) What people did Noah take with him on the ark?
His wife, his sons and the wifes of his sons.

    5) What did Noah do to keep the animals on the ark from attacking each other? (I can't imagine the lions on the ark wouldn't have been trying to eat the wildebeest)
Not clear, but it does say God commands him to make "rooms" in the ark.

    6) Did Noah take sea animals onto the ark? (if so, was there some kind of water holding on the ark?)
    No mention of that

    7) How long did the ark stay afloat with Noah & the animals?
    That is answered

    8) Where did Noah get food to feed the animals and other people aboard the ark?
    That is not answered

    9) Did any humans other than Noah and the others aboard the ark survive the flood?
Apparently not, as "all flesh perished".

    10) What ethnicity/nationality was Noah?
    No mention of that

    11) Were all the people aboard the ark of the same ethnicity?
The wives of his sons may have been of a different ethnicity, but there is no mention of that.

    12) If all the people aboard the ark were of the same ethnicity and no other people survived the flood, then why aren't all people today of the same ethnic makeup as Noah and his people?
    Not answered

    13) How did Noah store food on the ark? What did he do to keep it from spoiling?
    No mention of that

    14) What does it tell us about the credibility of the Noah's ark story that there are other similar accounts written a long time before the story of Noah was written of a man taking animals aboard an ark to avoid a flood (see the epic of Gilgamesh)?
    No mention of that

    15) How were the animals gathered up to be put on the ark?
    No mention of that

    16) Who helped Noah gather up the animals?
    No mention of that

    17) Where was the ark built?
    No mention of that

    18) Who built the ark?
    Apparently it was Noah

    19) How long did it take to build the ark?
Apparently it took one week or less

Some things aren't answered because they are not relevant. As to number 5 God most likely fixed it so the Lion could lay with the Lamb

He wouldn't need to, Flood = Water.

As you said earlier the Husbands could have been different ethic groups

I believe Noah's Epic is much older than any other

    Re: Questions about Noah's Ark

    Additional questions:
    20) Was Noah the only righteous man?
    21) What about Noah made him righteous while others weren't righteous?
    22) To end violence, why would God need to put an end to all flesh?
    23) If God decided to put an end to all flesh, why were Noah, his family and the animals taken aboard the ark allowed to live? Seems God didn't live up to his word.
    24) At 450' x 75' x 45', how could all those animals fit?
    25) Where did Noah get the materials to build the ark?
    26) When God said things to Noah, where did Noah hear the sound come from?
    27) When Noah heard God say that "Everything on earth will die", did Noah not fear for his own life and the life of his family?
    28) How did Noah gather all the food?
    29) Did Noah actually live to be 950 years old? Or was time measured differently then?
    30) Where are the "mountains of Ararat"? In what country does that lie?
    31) If the tops of mountains were already visible, then why did Noah send out a raven to see if there was land?
    32) How did the plucked olive leaf survive the flood? (it doesn't specify if plant life survived the flood)
    33) What was the altar built of?
    34) How did the LORD smell the pleasing aroma? Does the LORD have a nose with which to smell? Does the LORD have some kind of other mechanism with which to detect smell?
    35) How did Noah know to trust the LORD when he said he will never again curse the ground?
    36) Why would there be shame in Noah's sons seeing Noah naked?

God did. Noah was an exception because he was the only one to follow after God.

We don't know the precise measurements but the Ark was huge

Haven't the foggiest idea, it was gopher wood which does not exist today I believe

Thanks for the answers! It prompts additional questions:

    37) Were Noah's sons not righteous?
    38) What did Noah do to "follow after God"?
    39) What were God's reasons to end violence by putting an end to all flesh?
    40) When it is said God decided to put an end to all flesh, is that supposed to be meant as "God decided to put an end to all flesh other than that which was to go aboard the ark"? If so, then why isn't it written that way?
    41) It says 450' x 75' x 45'. Is that not precise?
    42) Where would you guess the sound appeared to come from when Noah heard God's voice?
    43) Would you suppose Noah feared for his life when God said "Everything on earth will die"?
    44) How do you suppose Noah gathered up all the food and kept it from perishing/spoiling?
    45) In what way was the world different pre-flood such as to allow people to live 950 years?
    46) Does "mountains of Ararat" equate to Mt. Ararat in Turkey?
    47) Why do you suppose Noah sent out a raven to see if the tops of mountains could already be seen?
    48) How would Noah know the Lord is trustworthy?
    49) What do you mean by "Would there be joy" in your response to #36?

    Re: Questions about Noah's Ark

In response to 46 Yes. In response to 49 would you be shamed if your dad or a male relative showed at your door drunk and stark naked? For the others spend time at those links and follow the other links there they have many more answers than I do.
