I served with this man while our Infantry Company taskforce sliced in a platoon of tanks and then we all were sliced over to the 82nd Airborne. This was back in 2003 and we were just outside of Fallujah and did a majority of our combat operations right in that city and the surrounding areas. The first time that I heard him sing this song was during a memorial for two fallen soldiers back in 03. Today, he's professionally singing and in a chat I had with him the other night, will be signing a recording deal soon.
The song is titled: The man that made the Medal. Here is what is written under the song in youtube: PERFORMANCE AT THE STATE FAIR IN GREAT FALLS MONTANA AUG 6TH 2011.....this song is about a dear friend that died in iraq...bill payne... its also dedicated to my brothers who we lost when i was there in 2003-2004........and the ones that continue to die.
