I have to say you are alot more feminine looking than how you've described yourself in previous posts. Did you teach yourself to crochet??

I generally don't look like that. It just so happened that I decided to dress like a girl that day.
And no, my mom actually taught me. She tried with sewing, but it never worked.
You did good! I like to take old clothes and make them into doll clothes for my grandbaby. I'm not brave enough to try it for myself! good job!

So pretty! Very beautiful!!
Why are you searching for love? Why are you still looking as if I'm not enough?
Ok, I had so much fun doing that one, I decided to do another one. Unfortunately, this one's denim, so I'll have to have my mom sew it, since I am full of fail when it comes to sewing... o.O
And... because I'm really, really bored, I'm going to extend another sweater I have into a sweater dress. For some reason, I'm kinda into skirts and whatnot. Or maybe it's just the fun of making stuff with my own hands.
Where's that yarn...
Of course, there's also a pair of much too large pants that are so begging to be redone...
Did I mention how bored I am right now?

hey, hey, hey - PHOTOS PLEASE!!!
And it may be that you are BOTH into working with your hands AND wearing skirts. Why not?
Listen, I used to knit, and there's nothing quite so satisfying as putting the final piece of clothing together after spending so much time working on it, and then wearing it, and knowing it looks good, you look good in it, and YOU DID IT ALL YOURSELF.
Hi52u.![]()
Even so, come Lord Jesus!
Ahhhh, I remember when I had a thing called free time. Seems like something from another life now, but I used to fashion my own clothes all the time. I can't tell you the number of times I would see a great blouse, skirt or dress on the clearance rack that was a few sizes too big and I would scoop it right up. Something for $3-$7 is worth it just for the fabric to create something new. I made up more dresses and fashioned more shirts and from getting things like that.... and so cheap! No one ever had the item that I was wearing and it was very rewarding to feel that you had completed it. I even used to embellish shoes from the clearance dept with things from the dollar store! ribbons and flowers and beads and sequins. Those were the days...... Now I get to live vicariously through you and this post Spike! Thanks!!!! :0) It's great fun!

I don't have a lot of free time, either. I just take the time I have to do it. I'm just really learning how to alter clothes. And I'll post pics soon -- my mom's going to help me with the finishing touches. I never could learn to use a sewing machine, so she's going to make the adjustments I can't do. Weird thing is, I think it's kind of a bonding thing, since she makes all her own clothes. Nothing fancy, but it works for her.
I'm just getting to the point where I don't like most of what's sold nowadays, so I think it's time I learned to make my own. And you're right matthew... it IS more satisfying when you make it yourself. You feel all accomplished and whatnot.
You do! It's especially nice when people compliment you and have no idea that you are the one who altered it to be that way. You sort of have this inner voice saying "no one even knows it isn't store quality!" hahahaha! It's great!
It's really nice that you are getting to bond with your mom, that's a definite bonus too, I think your underestimate yourself though. The sewing machine is really pretty easy to use if you get a standard one. The most complicated thing is learning to thread the bobbin and after doing it a few times it's waaaay easy. I look forward to seeing some of your creations!

it is beautifull and I'm inspired to make something myself now. I will try and knit a jumperwill probably take ages but why not , it's very relaxing doing them kind of things
Wow nice! The skirt turned out great.
I admire anyone who can do such a thing.
I once made a shirt and pants. They turned out "ok", but it was sheer torture and I vowed never to do it again!
Thanks for sharing this.
