It is only the cynic who claims “to speak the truth” at all times and in all places to all men in the same way, but who, in fact, displays nothing but a lifeless image of the truth… He dons the halo of the fanatical devotee of truth who can make no allowance for human weaknesses; but, in fact, he is destroying the living truth between men. He wounds shame, desecrates mystery, breaks confidence, betrays the community in which he lives, and laughs arrogantly at the devastation he has wrought and at the human weakness which “cannot bear the truth”. Dietrich Bonhoeffer, in Ethics.

Though it could mean some level of disrespect, it also could mean to insult or criticize. I could jokingly insult my friend (Yo' mama type silliness) and it in no way be truly disrespecting them, and it would be appropriate to tell them, "You got dis'ed!" Working with urban youth for so long they've instructed me in the proper usage of such terms.![]()

With all her faults, why a believer would support an abortion advocate, over someone who recognizes life is important, is amazing to me. if you are wrong on abortion, then your whole value system is screwed up.
Our sensibilities have become hardened when it comes to abortion. So many babies are being killed that we are numb to the point of calling abortion a procedure.

Might I put forth governor Jan Brewer for President? If nothing else, it'd be the first President we've had in more than 30 years that will act appropriately on the border issue![]()
You know, the border issue seems easy to me. Put up a fence along the border. For environmental purposes, put some holes where animals can get through. Watch those holes with cameras or people. Come down hard on those that hire illegal immigrants. Deport illegal immigrants and put them at the back of the line for legal immigration. Pass a law that states after a certain date, those who are here illegally can never have legal status. Then reform the immigration laws and allow many more folks to immigrate here legally. It should be much easier to immigrate here than what it is now.

This is more than a little offensive, Brother. I reject the idea that Christians must vote solely based on a candidates stance on abortion. Whether a person is pro-life or pro-choice, when they get into office it seems nothing changes. And hasn't Obama said that he would like to limit the number of abortions? I thought I saw that somewhere. So no, I would not vote for an incompetent pro-lifer for President over a competent Obama.

Obama is all for legalized murder. Let me ask you something BB, if Obama was for allowing the killing of 2 year olds if the mother wanted to do it, is that OK? Is it OK to say "well, I want to limit it happening but I want it to be legal". Also, he used an executive order to OK research with the unborn (embryos).
No one who is for allowing babies to be murdered is qualified to lead a nation and be president of those very babies he is allowing to be murdered.

I can't vote for someone that supports murder. It is the ultimate in child abuse. You can vote for someone that supports the right to abuse babies if you want to. But I can't.
Protecting babies is such a basic value, that if one doesn't get that right, they are not qualified to be in authority because authority is definitely about protection of the innocent. One of the first things that Obama did when he got into office was allow embryo research. So much for limiting the death of the unborn.
