"When I Have Opened Your Graves"

With the understanding that the following scriptures will be fulfilled at judgment day, after the millenium,
should we or Israel expect to inherit the promised land before that time?

Ezek 37:12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
Ezek 37:13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,

Is 26:19 Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for Thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.

Dan 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

    God bless you!

Ezekiel 37 isn't a literal resurrection prophecy; it is in a passage that is eluding to the upcoming 1st advent of Christ to bring life to the people; to give life to those dead in sin...and uses the metaphor of resurrecting people to show this change from death to life.

Is 26 and Dan 12 are literal resurrection prophecies; and they will be fulfilled at the Second Advent when Christ Appears; resurrecting all mankind to face the final judgment; with the faithful being forever united with Him in the New Jerusalem free of the curse of sin and death; and the wicked being removed from His presence into the Lake of Fire forevermore.

    Thank you David,

So with that in mind, should we or Israel expect to inherit the promised land before that time?

Jn 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
Jn 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

With regards to this scripture, and all that is written in that chapter is that not when God sets the king over those he has raised?

Is the land of Israel not the new Jerusalem?

The promised land is heaven, the country that Abraham longed for.

We inherit Heaven when Christ returns, and severs the wicked from among the just, and Heaven actually comes down to the new curse, sin, death-free Earth in the form of the New Jerusalem.

That's when the redeemed of all tribes, tongues, and nations inherit the promised land.

Race or nationality has nothing to do with it.

    Thanks David,

That is why I asked about this scripture regarding the land of Israel that God promised.

Ezek 37:12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

Two things are being discussed in Ezekiel 37. The prior chapters had been discussing the Babylonian captivity, and the exile; and the promise to return back from Babylon into the land of Israel. Chapter 37 segways into a new topic of the coming of Messiah to bring life.

So what you have are a bunch of people in captivity in Babylon; seeking to be release and return to Israel; as well as being given the visions and promises of hope of the upcoming Messiah and the Life that He will bring to them.

By the time Jesus incarnated and arrived, the Jews had returned from Babylon to the land of Israel, and Jesus showed up saying things like this.....

Matthew 4:16 "The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. "

John 5:24 "He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. "

John 10:10 "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

John 11:25 "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"

    Thanks David,

With regards to Jesus return and the gathering of Israel, would you agree that it would be when the dead are raised as in the scripture given?

Ezek 37:12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

Israel is the land that God will set the king/shepherd over Israel.

Ezek 37:22 And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all.

Ezek 37:24 And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them.

    God bless you!

Ephesians 2:13 "But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord"

So have they come into the land of Israel, and has the king been set over them?

Is the land of Israel not the new Jerusalem which comes down out of heaven?

Ezekiel 37:12-13 is not judgment day or a literal resurrection. The "graves" in this passage are not places where dead bodies reside, but places in the world where Jews live outside of Palestine.

    Thank you BroRog,

With the understanding that God will not gather Israel until the end has come at which time they will be given the promised land, is that not when the graves will be opened, and is it not after that has happened at judgment day that the new Jerusalem comes down from out of heaven.

Ezek 37:12 Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.

The dead must come forth from their graves, which is also when God said he will set a king/shepherd over them, it will be when Gods is with his people forever, this according to the following is after judgment.

Ezek 37:27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Ezek 37:28 And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.

Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Are there two promised lands that God will dwell forever with his people?

God is gathering Israel right now. And as I say, Ezekiel 37 is not talking about raising people from graves. The idea of raising the dead from graves is symbolic of the return of Jews back to the land, from their long, dark, exile.

Jesus has not yet returned to gather his elect, which he does after the tribulation, does this not include the remnant of Israel?

Mt 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Mk 13:27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

Will he not have to open the graves of the dead, will all men not know at that time who God is?

New Jerusalem is ONLY the city which is described 1500 furlongs ect..... this specific sized city is on a new earth which is bigger. The church lives in the city while Israel lives outside the city on the new earth ie the promised land
