Jerusalem – In the Eye of the Universe!

: With Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Reunification Day) approaching, United with Israel is excited to share this powerful look at Jerusalem from the eyes and heart of singer/songwriter Dovid (David Green). The song entitled “Jerusalem – Eye of the Universe” is from his new inspirational album, “Journey to the Real You.”
United with Israel has partnered with Dovid to try to share this video with as many people as possible and the opening verse really sums up why.
    Soul of the world
in the heart of the land
    together we stand in the
    eye of the universe

We all know that no matter what happens in Jerusalem, it is always in the Eye of the Universe, and in the headlines in the news in all corners of the world. But how often do we get to enjoy such a positive view as the one shared in this video. Dovid takes you from sunrise to sunset, from the distant mountain tops to the close up views of the faces of Machane Yehudah, the Jewish outdoor market. As much as we need to articulate our unbreakable commitment to Israel, it can be a frustrating uphill battle to counteract all the anti Israel propaganda constantly bombarding the media.

The professional and refreshing approach of this video shows the artists passionate connection between the historical layers of Jerusalem and the deep crevices of his own heart and soul. Again quoting the lyric “I can’t believe I’m witnessing centuries in the history of my soul”.

Please ‘SHARE’ this inspiring video with your family and friends!

Jesse Jackson Supports Marriage Equality, Compares It To African-American Civil Rights Struggle
Written by Instinct Staff | Sunday, 13 May 2012

With organizations like the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) being intent upon using same-sex marriage as a wedge issue between gay and African-American voters, it’s great to see influential figures within the African-American community stepping up to voice their support for President Obama’s same-sex marriage stance.

Rev. Jesse Jackson (who’s no stranger to controversy), praised President Obama’s decision to support marriage equality, comparing the fight for marriage equality to the African-American fight against slavery and laws restricting interracial marriage.

Speaking with the Los Angeles Times, Jackson says, "This is a bold step in the right direction for equal protection under the law for all citizens.”He did however express disappointment that the President didn’t go further. According to the LA Times, “he wished the president had gone further, pushing for federal protection for all citizens instead of leaving the controversial issue of gay marriage up to the states to decide.”
Comparing it to the plight of African-Americans, Jackson maintains that "If the states had to vote on slavery, we would have lost the vote," Jackson said. "If we had to vote on the right [for blacks] to vote, we would have lost that vote."

The increase in African-American leaders and civil rights activists voicing their support for same-sex marriage could prove to be imperative considering the sizeable level of opposition to same-sex marriage that exists within the African-American community. The LA Times notes that African-American voters were “instrumental” to passing North Carolina’s Amendment One this past week. That legislation banned same-sex marriage and civil unions.

Jesse Jackson called on religious leaders nationwide to speak directly with their congregations on the issue. He argues that “gays and lesbians are among the ranks of soldiers dying for their country, the teachers educating the nation's children and even the pastors guiding parishioners through the Bible. It's time to reward gays and lesbians with equal protection.”
He also urged those against marriage equality to remember that “same-sex marriage isn't about taking rights away from anyone else, but rather extending those rights to all.” He also noted “a painful time in America's not-too-distant past when African American men in the South faced swift punishment or even death if they tried to date a white woman, even as white men boldly dated across racial lines.”

Jackson says, "You may choose your mate, but you cannot deny someone else the right to choose their mate. The law protects you from being abused. It doesn't threaten your lifestyle for someone else to have the right to exhibit their lifestyle.”

What do you think, Instincters? Does Jackson make a strong argument?

Do you think those that oppose same-sex marriage within the African-American community will begin to shift their views as more influential figures come forward sharing Jackson’s beliefs?

Iran readying to launch new spy satellite, defense minister says
Ahmad Vahidi previously announced launch of Fajr satellite in 2010

A senior Iranian official announced Sunday that the country’s newest spy satellite would launch next month.
This is not the first time that Iran has announced the imminent launch of the Fajr reconnaissance satellite.
Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi told a group of reporters that the satellite would launch in June, according to the state run Islamic Republic News Agency.

He called the launch a national defense project, according to the report.
Vahidi has been promising the launch of the domestically made satellite since as far as back as 2010, according to media reports.
In December 2010, Vahidi announced the launch would take place “in a few months,” according to Agence-France Presse

The solar powered satellite has a lifespan of a year and a half and will be sent into space using the country’s Safir rocket.

Obadiah 1:15For the day of the LORD [is] near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done (to Israel), it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.

    Commentary

    The Europen Union Flag
As Europe is condemning Israel and demanding that Israel divide the land, it looks like the Euro and European economic union is about to melt down. If the economic union flies apart, Europe will also break up politically. What they are doing to Israel is hitting them at the EXACT time. They constantly attack Israel for defending themselves against a people who want to destroy Israel. They constantly demand that Israel divide the land and Jerusalem in direct violation of God’s word. It appears that economic chaos and social unrest is about to overcome Europe.

Later this summer and into the fall could be hell on earth for the Europeans. I have no doubt that the Europeans will not relent in the attempt to bully Israel. They will continue it to their own destruction. The authority of the Bible is now fully coming into play.

Jellyfish-like organisms shut down California power plant (bron )

    Posted on April 27, 2012

April 27, 2012 – CALIFORNIA – The workers of the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant received a very slimy surprise this week when they discovered hoards of jellyfish-like creatures clinging to the structure, leading to the shutdown of the plant. The organisms, called salp, are small sea creatures with a consistency similar to jellyfish. The influx of salp was discovered as part of the plant’s routine monitoring system, according to Tom Cuddy, the senior manager of external and nuclear communications for the plant’s operator, Pacific Gas & Electric. “We then made the conservative decision to ramp down the affected unit to 20 percent and continued to monitor the situation,” Cuddy said. “When the problem continued, we made another conservative decision that it would be safest to curtail the power of the unit.” The salp were clogging the traveling screens in the intake structure, which are meant to keep marine life out and to keep the unit cool. “Safety is the highest priority,” Cuddy said. “We will not restart the unit until the salp moves on and conditions improve. No priority is more important than the safe operation of our facility.” The plant consists of two units. Unit 1 was shut down previously because of refueling and maintenance work and will not be functional for several weeks. Now that Unit 2 has been shut down because of the influx of salp, the plant has ceased all production. Even with the Diablo Canyon plant out of commission, PG&E has pledged to continue production using other sources of power so that customers are unaffected by the closure. “We’ve had salp cling to the intake structure before, but nothing to this extent,” Cuddy said. -ABC

7 million bats die from WNS: ‘We can’t stop this thing and its marching across the country’

Posted on April 23, 2012by The Extinction Protocol
April 23, 2012NORTH AMERICA Over 7 million bats have been wiped out by a disease (WNS) that is rapidly spreading across the country. It’s an extinction of animals by disease that has no precedent in recorded history. First identified in the northeastern United States, WNS has wiped out an estimated 95% of Pennsylvania’s bat population and is quickly spreading across the country. It was most recently discovered in Missouri, Delaware and Alabama. “This is like bringing small pox to the New World. It is surely an unprecedented wildlife disaster for North America,” said Bucknell University professor Dr. DeeAnn Reeder. Reeder is one of the country’s leading experts on WNS, and one of the researchers responsible for identifying the cause of the disease in 2011. “We can’t stop this thing. It’s marching across the country and we’re going to see some extinction.” –PR Web

Indian village plagued by swarm of mysterious venomous spiders (skakel)

    Posted on June 4, 2012

June 4, 2012 – INDIA – A town in India is living in fear of a swarm of venomous spiders, which last month left two people dead after being bitten. It may sound like a B-grade horror movie, but residents of the town of Sadiya, in Assam state, say that on the evening of May 8 as they were celebrating a Hindu festival swarms of spiders suddenly appeared and attacked them, The Times of India reported. Over the next few days two people – a man, Purnakanta Buragohain, and an unnamed school boy – died after being bitten by the spiders. Scores more turned up at the town’s hospital with spider bites. District authorities are panicking and are considering spraying the town with the insecticide DDT. Locals say the most terrifying aspect is that spiders appear in swarms and their behaviour is highly aggressive. “It leaps at anything that comes close. Some of the victims claimed the spider latched on to them after biting. If that is so, it needs to be dealt with carefully. The chelicerae and fangs of this critter are quite powerful,” head of the department of life sciences at Dibrugarh University Dr LR.Saikia said. Teams of Indian arachnid experts have flocked to the town, hoping to identify the species, but so far they have drawn a blank. They say it could be a tarantula, a black wishbone or even a funnel-web spider – or it could be a whole new species. One thing they agree on is that it is not native to the area as there is no record of venomous spiders in Assam. The black wishbone and funnel-web are native to Australia. Researchers are also still running tests to find out the toxicity of the spiders’ venom. Dr Anil Phatowali, superintendent of the town’s hospital, said they had not administered antivenin as they could not be certain the spider was venomous at all. He also pointed out other factors may have contributed to the two reported fatalities. “All the bite patients first went to witch doctors, who cut open their wounds with razors, drained out blood and burnt it. That could have also made them sick,” Dr. Phatowali said. –News.au

New World Order: Europe hammers out plan for new financial confederacy of Eurozone states

Posted on June 3, 2012by The Extinction Protocol
June 3, 2012EUROPEWhen Jean-Claude Trichet called last June for the creation of a European finance ministry with power over national budgets, the idea seemed fanciful, a distant dream that would take years or even decades to realize, if it ever came to be. One year later, with the euro zone’s debt crisis threatening to tear the bloc apart, Germany is pushing its partners for precisely the kind of giant leap forward in fiscal integration that the now-departed European Central Bank president had in mind. After falling short with her “fiscal compact” on budget discipline, German Chancellor Angela Merkel is pressing for much more ambitious measures, including a central authority to manage euro area finances, and major new powers for the European Commission, European Parliament and European Court of Justice. She is also seeking a coordinated European approach to reforming labor markets, social security systems and tax policies, German officials say. Until states agree to these steps and the unprecedented loss of sovereignty they involve, the officials say Berlin will refuse to consider other initiatives like joint euro zone bonds or a “banking union” with cross-border deposit guarantees – steps Berlin says could only come in a second wave. The goal is for EU leaders to agree to develop a road map to “fiscal union” at a June 28-29 EU summit, where top European officials including European Council President Herman Van Rompuy will present a set of initial proposals. European countries would then put the meat on the bones of the plan in the second half of 2012, several European sources have told Reuters, including a timetable for overhauling EU treaties, a step Berlin sees as vital for setting closer integration in stone. “The fundamental question is relatively simple. Do our partners really want more Europe, or do they just want more German money?” a government official in Berlin said. If European countries go ahead, the steps would represent the most significant policy leap since they agreed to give up their national currencies and cede control over monetary policy 13 years ago. But the hurdles are daunting. “The world is not coming to an end; rather, it feels as if we are on the doorstep to another major European integration move,” said Erik Neilsen, chief economist at Unicredit. “But why do these initiatives only come when we are on the edge of the cliff where the risk of an accident is so much higher?” Spain, whose banking troubles have made it the latest target of financial markets, signalled over the weekend that it was on board with a key element of the plan. Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy backed the creation of a new euro-wide fiscal authority of the kind Trichet sketched out in a speech in Aachen, Germany last year. But other states, including the bloc’s second-biggest member France, have deep reservations about ceding so much sovereignty. –Reuters

Storm clouds gather as diplomacy fails: Iran promises ‘lightning response’ to any Israeli attack

    Posted on June 3, 2012

June 3, 2012 – IRAN – Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, has threatened a “lightning response” to any Israeli attack and warned that sanctions would fail to curb his country’s nuclear programme and only deepen its “hatred of the west.” The angry rhetoric is routine for Iran’s clerical leadership but had particular significance as it came between rounds of negotiations between Tehran and the world’s major powers over Iranian nuclear aspirations. Western officials were hoping to hear conciliatory notes in the supreme leader’s speech, delivered on the anniversary of the death of his predecessor, Ruhollah Khomeini, which is often the occasion of policy announcements by the Tehran leadership. Mildly positive language towards Barack Obama in a Khamenei speech delivered in March raised hopes for a diplomatic way out of the nuclear impasse, but with a third round of talks due in Moscow later this month, there was no encouragement for reconciliation in today’s address. “The obstacles enemies are creating in our path won’t have any effect. Sanctions are ineffective. Sanctions can’t stop the Iranian nation from moving forward,” Khamenei said at Khomeini’s mausoleum south of Tehran. “The only effect these unilateral and multilateral sanctions have on the Iranian nation is that they deepen hatred and animosity toward the west in the heart of our people.” Turning towards the threat of an Israeli military strike against Iran’s nuclear sites, the ayatollah warned: “Should they take any wrong step, any inappropriate move, it will fall on their heads like lightning.” Khamenei’s comments come a week after the head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, Fereydoun Abbasi-Davani, declared there was no need for Iran to stop production of 20% enriched uranium, something that had been sought by international negotiators at the last round of discussions in Baghdad last month. The Baghdad talks ended without significant progress. A six-nation group of negotiators from the US, China, UK, France, Germany, and Russia, offered reactor fuel, nuclear safety support and parts for commercial airliners in return for a suspension of 20% enriched uranium. The Iranians said Tehran was willing to discuss 20% uranium, but made no mention of suspension and demanded international recognition of its right to enrich uranium. –Guardian

Record wildfire in New Mexico only 15% contained

    Posted on June 2, 2012

June 2, 2012 – NEW MEXICO – The largest wildfire in New Mexico’s history continued to burn almost uncontrollably Saturday in the remote Gila Wilderness, belching enough smoke to prompt officials to caution that children, adults with heart disease and other sensitive groups should not go outdoors. Since lightning ignited the Whitewater-Baldy Fire Complex wildfire on May 9, flames have devoured 227,000 acres — more than 354 square miles — in the southwest portion of the state. Even though 1,257 personnel have been fighting the conflagration, only 15% of it was contained Saturday, U.S. Forest Service officials said. For purposes of comparison, the burn area of 354 square miles is more than one and a half times bigger than the city of Chicago’s 227 square miles. Two separate strikes of lightning caused the mountainous fire: the Baldy Fire started May 9 in an inaccessible area of the rugged wilderness, and the Whitewater Fire was reported on May 16 several miles west of the Baldy Fire, Forest Service officials said. The two fires in the Gila National Forest combined May 23, enhanced by drought and sustained winds of 40 mph to 50 mph, authorities said. It was the May 16 event that led crews to try to suppress the entirety of the fire but “the extreme fire activity, coupled with incredibly rugged terrain and large boulders falling down the steep canyons forced fire crews to pull out of the area after the first day of fighting the fire,” the Forest Service said. The fire began 15 miles east of Glenwood, New Mexico, and has been fueled by conifers, ponderosa pines, pinons, junipers and grass, Forest Service officials said. Continuing growth potential for the history-making wildfire was “high” Saturday, the Forest Service said. -CNN

Growing arms race: Pakistan successfully tests nuclear-capable cruise missile

Posted on June 1, 2012by The Extinction Protocol
June 1. 2012ISLAMABAD - For the second time in a week, Pakistan today successfully test fired another nuclear- capable Hatf-VIII cruise missile with a range of more than 350 km, the latest in a series of tests of missiles that can hit targets within India. The military described the flight test of the air-launched Hatf-VIII or Ra’ad cruise missile as successful. “The Ra’ad missile, with a range of over 350 km, enables Pakistan to achieve strategic standoff capability on land and at sea,’ a military statement said. The Ra’ad missile has stealth capabilities and is a “low-altitude, terrain hugging missile with high maneuverability.” The test comes just days after Pakistan test fired its quick reaction tactical nuclear-capable Hatf-IX missile with a range of 60 km on May 29. The Hatf-IX is virtually a battlefield missile designed to hit massed armor. The Ra’ad can deliver “nuclear and conventional warheads with pinpoint accuracy,” the statement said. The military said today’s launch had also tested a new automated command and control system. “A major additional feature of today’s test was the effective employment of the National Command Authority’s fully automated Strategic Command and Control Support System,” the statement said. –Times of India

Global markets go into meltdown: unemployment surges to record highs across Eurozone

Posted on June 1, 2012by The Extinction Protocol

June 1. 2012 EUROPEEuro zone unemployment has hit a record high, and job losses are likely to keep climbing as the bloc’s devastating debt crisis eats away at businesses’ ability to hire workers while indebted governments continue to cut staff. Around 17.4 million people were out of work in the 17-nation euro zone in April, or 11 percent of the working population, the highest level since records began in 1995, the EU’s statistics office Eurostat said on Friday. “This 11 percent level is going to continue edging up in the coming months and probably until the end of the year,” said Francois Cabau, an economist at Barclays Capital who sees the euro zone’s economy contracting 0.1 percent this year. “The economic activity situation tells you the story of the labor market. There’s been basically no economic growth since the fourth quarter of last year and indicators are pointing to very weak growth momentum for the second quarter,” he said. ING economist Martin van Vliet said he sees the unemployment rate reaching slightly above 11.5 percent if the economy starts to recover later this year. But if the downturn worsens, “the risk is for an even higher peak in unemployment,” he said. As the debt crisis intensifies, companies in the euro zone are trying to keep their labor costs low as they struggle with falling demand and profits, while a German-led drive to cut deficits and debt is pressuring governments to shrink spending. But some economists say austerity policies in an economic downturn are self-defeating because governments receive less tax receipts as unemployment grows and must pay out more money in jobless benefits. “The high level of unemployment is putting cyclical pressure on government expenditure in many of the euro zone’s economies and that is contributing to the lack of confidence in many of the euro zone’s sovereign debt markets,” said Philip Shaw, chief economist at Investec bank in London. -Reuters
