I'm so confused but I think I've done something very wrong

Hi sorry for a bit of a read but I think I've insulted God and now I'm very worried and feel lost. The last few months have been a challenging time for me. My Grandad died in July last year, I injured my knee tendons meaning I've been limited to playing the sport I love, I've been diagnosed with health anxiety, I've broken my arm and smashed my teeth to name a few things. However last weekend I had a nightmare morning and missed a train and had a debate with a woman. As i walked away from the station full in frustration I questioned things, I then turned to the sky and swore. I instantly apologised and have since asked for forgiveness but I feel terrible I resorted to that. I feel completely lost. Will God forgive me for swearing at him? It was a quick heated moment and I retracted it but no matter how much I ask for forgiveness I feel this massive pain and worry!!

Well, it's not about the swearing, is it?

What about the anger? The unbelief? The reasons you swore at God to begin with?

What about that?

That's what you confess.

"Lord I'm angry at You because .... I blame You because ... I don't believe You because ..."

Etc.

Go do that and let me know what happens.

It's not about you insulting God with your words. (Even though I absolutely agree that it's sinful). It's about you not coming clean about those things in your heart. He still sees those, clear as day, you know. All those other things you've never confessed.

Thank you for your advice. I feel ashamed for doing it though. He gives so much and thats how I repay him. I know we are weak and that everyone sins but that seems to of made me feel ashamed.

Well, it should. We should all feel ashamed for our unbelief and sin that lurks in our own heart.

Don't stay in that shame, though. Confess, ask for mercy, and let God set you free.

Whom the Son sets free, is free indeed!

My friend

I can tell by the tone of your post that you are apologetic for the things that you've done. No worries, for God can see the heart of man. The thing you must remember is that He is "faithful and just" to forgive us our sins. Otherwise, we'd all be fried. The devil will always try to pick at you to see if he can weaken your faith. Stay strong my friend and stay prayed up!

like you have been attacked is okay. It happens to me too. And don't feel angry for being upset with God, for Jesus said he is your friend, and if
you can't get mad at a friend, who can you get angry with? He lived as you do, so he understands all the frustations that you do.

There is no substitute for talking to God in a reverant way, and we must confess our sins, not just fret about them to others. We need to humble ourselves before God and receive His beloved Son; otherwise we will have no part in God and He will not respond to us (Heb. 11:6; John 9:31). It is all about relationships.
