I'm sorry, but this is just asinine.NEW YORK (JTA) – President Obama reportedly urged Jewish communal leaders to speak to their friends and colleagues in Israel and to “search your souls” over Israel's seriousness about making peace.
When has he called on Fatah/Hamas/Hizbullah/Syria/Iran to "search their souls" over their seriousness to make peace? Why does he put the onus for the lack of peace on the only free country in the region?
This man has a seriously warped worldview.

Palestinians must abandon violence. Resistance through violence and killing is wrong and does not succeed. For centuries, black people in America suffered the lash of the whip as slaves and the humiliation of segregation. But it was not violence that won full and equal rights. Hamas does have support among some Palestinians, but they also have responsibilities. To play a role in fulfilling Palestinian aspirations, and to unify the Palestinian people, Hamas must put an end to violence, recognize past agreements, and recognize Israel's right to exist.

Maybe....Maybe we are just trying to keep Israel in her land by pacifying the enemy or shall I say pretending to give the enemy what they want. IN the process we save the world, because if war breaks out in the middle east with all that oil in the middle east, it could seriously screw up our entire world economy; thereby weakening every non-islamic govt. Knowing that the muslim nations would rather risk their lives for the sake of allah, and advancing islam, they really don't care what it does the the worldwide economy. IN fact they would love to see it collapse because that would put them on equal footing with us, and in time through a series of suicide bombs they would fulfill their ultimate desire...islamasize the whole world.
As much as I can't stand what I see or hear the govt doing, there's a lot that we don't know about under the surface, and a lot of ways that I'm sure it's being handled, including putting on a show, even if we don't like the "show" we see.
That said, I do have my doubts that Obama and his admin is actually on our side.

Ah yes the fated U.S government, such a predictament.
Your government steps up to be a leading nation among the world, they cant possibly please everyone, its easier to displease it own "children" than other peoples of the world because while your government is a worldwide leader it cant control or at least has alot less playing cards with other nations of the world.
So a sacrifice of reputation from its own people is alot easier to maintain than a sacrifice to another people/peoples
Its really a losing situation no matter what regard it takes.
sacrifice popularity within your own people or sacrifice popularity with some nations or the other nations which all have thier value and its in a situation where its dug itself so far into the rest of the world the u.s cant just step out from the major picture.

This speech has nothing to do with the topic at hand. It's generally quite upbeat about Islam and Muslims. He states such laughable platitudes as "Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance" which is completely untrue. Noplace in this speech does he accuse Muslims of being unserious about seeking peace, as he accuses Israelis.
The man has a very warped view of reality. Your carrying water for him does nothing to change that.

I've heard Jews articulate that if the world doesn't have enough room for a tiny Jewish state, maybe it doesn't deserve to exist at all. Generally I can soar above such bitterness, but not always.
