    Hebrew pictographs

    Hello all.

About 10 years ago the Lord told me "learn Hebrew". All of a sudden I had a tremendous urge to learn the language. It became a passion for me.

Along the way I discovered that Hebrew is made from ancient pictograms where every letter is actually a word.

My study began when a lady asked me what "eden" meant. She had heard of my studying and thought I might provide some insight for her.

Well I saw that the first letter "ayin" was the Hebrew word for "eye". This got me going....

So I contacted the lady and told her that the letters meant "to see the door to life"

I have taken this farther over the years. I even went on a messianic TV show to do a series on the subject!

    Here is a little primer...

The word for man is "ish"

    it is written as איש

This means..."the power to work and eat"

Now, the word for fire is "esh"

    It is written as.. אש

Notice the youd for work is missing....this can be rendered "the power to eat (consume)

    Now here is a lesson....

The word for woman is "isha" and this is written as.. אשה

Notice it is the feminine form of "fire"...as much as it is of "man"

So a woman is as fire to a man...his burning passion. Playing with fire...etc...

    Go one better.

The letters of the Hebrew word "man" and "woman" have two in common, that spell "fire" and two that differ, that spell "God".

If a marriage doesn't have "God" in it all that's left is "fire".
Hear the word of the Lord, O nations, and declare it on the islands from afar, and say, "He Who scattered Israel will gather them together and watch them as a shepherd his flock."

    So so true

    Re: Hebrew pictographs

Here is a chart with the pictograms displayed for use in looking at the pictoral meanings of Hebrew words.

I'm very pleased to find out that the Lord has led others to study this as well. Ta-An has this same passion as I do! This language is rich in meaning and a wonderful way to directly study the words from the Lord.

    Anyway here it is...

I hope that others will look into this and benefit from a study from God's EXACT words! How can a disciple NOT want to look deeper into this!

    Re: Hebrew pictographs

Let's look at these passages for a hidden meaning in the Hebrew...

    Ez. 9:3 And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side;

9:4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.

9:5 And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:

9:6 Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house.

9:7 And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.

9:8 And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?

9:9 Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.

If we look at the Hebrew for "set a mark" we get to "tav a tav" Tav is the last letter of the Hebrew aleph-bet and the ancient symbol is a cross. So the angel set a cross on the foreheads of those whom would be spared judgment.

Not "my" observation, it's commonly heard at Jewish wedding celebrations. But thanks.

I have a Jewish friend who used to ask me..."do you study this stuff 8 hours a day????" Well, I actually did in those days.

Fenris, my friend, the Torah and writings are so rich, as you know. It is like we have a man with no fork given a meal...and the man with a meal having no fork. If only the Jews could see the truth and deeper meanings contained therein. God wants more for His people. He wants to reveal Himself to them and give them His life. Would that my Christian brethren as well look deeper into the root that sustains them.

They're "rich" in refrences to Jesus, according to you. If they have any other value, you have yet to comment on it.

Someone secure in their beliefs shouldn't feel the need to "prove" them day after day after day.

I don't see how re-affirming what you already believe is a gem. Or why it's even necessary.

We find new treasures daily. Give us this day our DAILY bread. Like manna, we receive new revelation on an ongoing basis...and this is an eternal discovery.

The orthodox among the Jews also study on a daily basis. But this is not to confirm any beliefs....it is to live from what God has spoken.

Man shall not live by bread alone....but by every word that proceeds from God.

A spiritual life needs spiritual nourishment.

    Exactly.

There's a difference between studying the bible to carry out God's will on earth, and studying the bible to find the 10,000,001 hint of Jesus that can be teased out of the text...
