    Re: My Step-Mom: Cancer

Stephen, I am so very sorry for you, this is so sad.
My heart and prayers go out to you, Joanne, and your whole family.
Thankful to hear Joanne is a Christian.
My Dad never lost his sense of humor or zest for life, while battling cancer.
I honestly think that is why he lived longer than the time stated by the Dr. (and of coarse, the Lord's timing.)

    Re: My Step-Mom: Cancer

She seems to be valiantly hanging in there as of today. She can no longer walk because of fluid/swelling, and goes through the typical throes of sickness. She doesn't seem to be in unreasonable pain, and is on pretty good pain meds, evidently.

She is late level four, and her MD assumes the cancer has metastasized, though he's not sure where. They are hoping a six week course of chemo will make surgery more feasable, when they will remove everything they can related to the cancer. She is leaning towards giving the surgery a shot, hoping it will give her a little more time.

JoAnn is very flattered and encouraged by your prayers.

    Very.

    Thanks and Lord Bless

    Re: My Step-Mom: Cancer

    Update:

JoAnn is doing swimmingly well these last couple days, thank the Lord. She talked my arm off yesterday and sounded great.

Today will be her second three-week chemo administration, so, will likely be very sick again. She still cannot walk because of swelling.

JoAnn is a tough gal who will not complain and who is always ready with a quip or a joke, and she still laughs.

She is sounding more confident about going for the surgery in three weeks - it will give her, hopefully, a little more time.

She's in for a rough ride, but is greatly flattered and encouraged that folks here have been praying for her.

So, again, thanks much and Lord Bless
    Stephen

    Re: My Step-Mom: Cancer

Thanks, T JoAnn appears to be doing remarkably well, considering. She'll have another chemo administration on May 5, then will be tentatively scheduled for surgery 3 weeks after that, unless they decide to go for one more chemo first.

All her bloating and swelling went down - she's about 109lbs and skinny - and they say this is because of the chemo working. That would be nice.

She doesn't think she's going to survive this, but has decided to go ahead with the surgery. We all think she has a better chance than she believes, so it's a tough call.

Thanks much for your concern and your faithful, watchful prayer.

    Lord Bless

Please tell her not to give up! We serve a MIGHTY and POWERFULL God! The ONLY almighty and all powerful! We don't know how he heals, but he does. And sometimes he uses wisdom he has given the doctors and medicine he has allowed to be made.

I Pray the chemo IS working and that the surgery will completely eliminate the cancer. Wipe it out! Kill it! Stop it!

...praying for all of you, especially for JoAnn!
    My favorite scripture: Malachi 3:16

"Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name!" (Every time we speak of the Lord, or even THINK of him--its written down in a book of remembrance!)

Praying for the Lords hand on all of the family, He is mightier than all our concerns and worries, though, I know, we so easily forget. So praying that JoAnn and all the family will have in the foremost of their mind the ability of our mighty God. And the peace and strength that only He can provide.

    Re: My Step-Mom: Cancer

JoAnn is finally scheduled to go in for her surgery on Tuesday morning. She has gone through 3 chemo sessions of about 3weeks each and they feel she is now ready for the operation.

She sounds very upbeat and appears to have lost her anxiety about the surgery, and has a lot of hope that she'll do well. My cousin is an Md and has helped her understand what to expect, and has encouraged her a great deal.

JoAnn asked me to tell everyone here Thank You for your concern and prayers - she is very comforted (and flattered) by this.

She adopted me as her own when she was 17yrs old.

I'll update as soon as she gets out of the OR and someone calls or emails me.

Thanks very much for watching and praying for JoAnn.

    Lord Bless

Praying that JoAnn will be led to whatever medical and/or alternative health helps that YHWH knows are best for her, that she will recover, and that her family will be comforted and guided by His holy angels.
Please pray for "the least of these" in the Persecuted Church Prayer Forum at top.

Acts 21 Now they have been informed about you that you continually teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn back from and forsake Moses...Therefore do just what we tell you. With us are 4 men who have taken a vow upon themselves. Take these men and purify yourself along with them and pay their expenses [for a temple offering],...Thus everybody will know that there is no truth in what they have been told about you, but that you yourself walk in observance of the Law of Moses.
