    Are you a Christian Zionist?

I was under the impression that most American Protestant Christians were Zionists. However, lately some comments made have caused me to question whether I was correct in making this assumption.

So I present the following question; Are you a Zionist?

    I qualify the answers below.

-Yes, I am a Christian Zionist because God commands me to be one. Genesis 12:3 "I will bless those who bless you..." Psalms 122:6 "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love you..." or perhaps some other verse you'd like to include?

-Yes, I am a Zionist. God does not specifically command that I be one, but it is the moral/ethical thing to do. Antisemitism is wrong/Israel is a good ally/some other reason you would like to include?

-I am not a Zionist. Israel is just like any other country.

-I am not a Zionist. Israel is wrong/Palestinian land is stolen/Jews not really the Jews (yes, someone here said this to me)/some other reason you might want to share?

I am not looking for debate in this thread. There is no "right" or "wrong" answer. I just want to know what people's honest opinion is on the subject.

Also please note if you agree with "1" and "2", "1" should be the vote since God's specific command takes precedence.

In the interest of disclosure I am voting "1".

How can you vote as a Christian Zionist? Does it not require that you be a Christian first? Or are you hiding something from us?

Despite the fact that Israel is hopelessly apostate option 1 does seem most reasonable.

    (2) - Yes, I am a Zionist. God does not specifically command that I be one, but it is the moral/ethical thing to do. Antisemitism is wrong/Israel is a good ally/some other reason you would like to include?

Zionist in the sense that I am for Israel, I seek to support and defend her, and I pray for the peace of Jerusalem, which ultimately means I pray for the Kingdom to be established under Christ.

Not Zionist in the sense, as some would define it, that Israel seeks supremacy in the present world.

Re: Are you a Christian Zionist?

I am pro-Jewish! I am for a homeland for the Jews. I think the revival of Hebrew is great!

But I am not a Zionist. I think the country now called Israel should be called Judea as it was in the time of Christ. Israel is a misnomer in my estimation. The northern tribes have been dispersed throughout the world. Biblically speaking it was these 10 northern tribes that were termed "the kingdom of Israel". It was the Jews who remained in the land...Judea or Judah not Israel.

So I think many Christians have been misled into thinking something is what it says it is...because of the label it has been given by men (rather than God). The present state called Israel is a secular state like any other. This should not be confused with biblical prophecy about the entity called Israel.

Long live Judea of the Jews!

Long live the Israel of God (not the same)

My rationale would be the same as a Christian Zionist- because God said so.

I am for the repentance and salvation of every person who will come of Semetic ancestry, so that they become sons of God and children of the promise, inheriting all things in the world to come, most importantly, eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

(I am also for the repentence and salvation of every person who will come of Hametic and Japhetic ancestry too....if you get what I mean).

Land parcels and governments and political recognition however, isn't what Israelites need...they salvation and eternal hope that only Jesus Christ can provide.

And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? (Jos 5:13 KJV)

And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? (Jos 5:14 KJV)

You don't give enough options, Fenris.

Israel and Judea belongs to Jesus:

And said unto him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle therein: (Zec 2:4 KJV)

For I, saith the LORD, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her. (Zec 2:5 KJV)

Ho, ho, come forth, and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD. (Zec 2:6 KJV)

Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest with the daughter of Babylon. (Zec 2:7 KJV)

For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. (Zec 2:8 KJV)

For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me. (Zec 2:9 KJV)

Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD. (Zec 2:10 KJV)

And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto thee. (Zec 2:11 KJV)

And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again. (Zec 2:12 KJV)

Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation. (Zec 2:13 KJV).

I'm not a Zionist. I'm a Messianist. It's Jesus' portion, Jesus' inheritance. "Israel" and the nations do not have the right to divide it up.

OK, so you're not a Zionist. I gave you that choice on the poll.

I voted for 3, in a very loving and hopeful manner, for all Israelites.

Old land parcels and governmental political engines isn't what they need though, they need to embrace their Saviour and Lord to participate in the promises of old. No promises will come to unbelievers who choose to remain outside of Him. God welcomes the faithful descendents of Abraham like David, Solomon, Isaiah, Daniel, Simeon, Peter, Paul, etc...and likewise rejects the unfaithful descendents of Abraham like Ahab, Jereboam, Herod, Chiaphas, Judas Iscariot, etc...

Psalms 7 "Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins."

"He [any Israelite] that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son."

"For as many [any Israelite] as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. "

"They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. "

"Know ye therefore that they which are of faith [any Israelite], the same are the children of Abraham. "

"as many [any Israelite] as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

"let him [any Israelite] that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. "

I am. Obediently because God said so. Faithfully because my personal hope in God's promises are founded on God's faithfulness to Israel.
