The Wilderness the Place of Safety During the Great Tribulation

Is there a place to flee to escape the great tribulation spoken of by Jesus?

according to the word of God there is. and it is not by rapture which is commonly taught in the christians world.

    Jesus said

    Matthew 24

1And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

2And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

The apostles asked Jesus about his coming and the end of the world

lets jump down to where Jesus warns us about the great tribulation.

15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand

16Then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains:

17Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

18Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

19And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

20But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

notice the Lord said flee when we see the Abomination of Desolation.

15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand
16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

    what happen next?

    Jesus said

21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

remember this is end time being spoken of.

    lets look at it again

    Revelation 12

6And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

14And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

15And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

16And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

17And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

notice that in Revelation John speaks of the woman, which is the church fleeing into the wilderness.

have you read this before, throughout the bible the Lord speaks of the church being in the wilderness during the Great Tribulation.

How do you come to that conclusion when verse 17 states this? 17...and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Who would these be if the church is in the wilderness at the time? The fact that it says they have the testimony of Jesus Christ. tells us they are the church. Who else but the church would have the testimony of Jesus Christ?

There is for those who live in Judea.
So what of those Christians living anywhere else??

This discourse addresses those who live in Judea at the time of the temple not having one stone upon another.
The Great Trib seems to be about the temple being destroyed and the Jews being exiled from the land.....until the times of the gentiles are fulfilled over Jerusalem.
What happens next is happening now and hes coming soon.

Petra is modern Jordan is probably the place. Daniel 11 mentions Edom, Moab and Amon escaping the Antichrist's control for at least 1st half of the Tribulation.

I should be safe here on the island during the Tribulation. Can't flee any way because the Skipper builds flimsy rafts.

Is verse 17 the church? is said they are the remnant of the seed. These people kept the commandments and they had the testimonies of Jesus yet they lacked one thing in this verse OBEDIENCE. Jesus said flee in Matthew, the woman fled in Revelation, if the woman is the church why did not the remnant obey?

to answer your question the remnant is not the church at this time, the woman fled (church)
the remnant stayed and now must face satan and his minions.

this is what a lot of people believe who understand the fleeing into the wilderness, yet this verse comes to mind,

me tell what you think of it

    Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

Jesus took the Israelites into the wilderness not only modern Jordan but the Sinai Peninsula

we see that Jesus is doing something that has been done before but this time on a larger scale, Is Petra big enough to hold the church?

is Rev 12 only for the People of Judea

    lets read

    Revelation 12

6And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

most Jews don't believe in Jesus so how can they have the testimony of Jesus, when most don't read the New Testament?

Re: The Wilderness the Place of Safety During the Great Tribulation

keep in mind this is Jesus speaking and Jesus said this also

    Matthew 4:4
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Jesus said flee so what should we do? we have to ask ourselves do we obey or disobey? Do we really beleive every word of Jesus or not?

    Matthew 24

15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand

Re: The Wilderness the Place of Safety During the Great Tribulation

why are we suppose to flee?

Jesus said there will be great tribulation a time the worls has never seen.

surely this is not only for those in Judea? do people really think those in Judea are the only ones who should flee?

the world is not Judea the great tribulation covers the whole world and Jesus said flee.

    Matthew 24

21For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
