    What is a "Real Man"

What does it take to make a "Real Man"

    A couple of points:

    1. I am not against chivalry, some people just go over the top.

    2. I am not advertising that it is cool to break the rules.

A man who works with all his heart, provides for his family, and loves His Lord. That's a real man.

A man who is comfortable enough with himself to not need to prove his masculinity.

Someone who knows his strength is for the benefit of others as well as (if not more than) himself.

Someone who knows he is a child of God and does not judge himself or others by earthly standards.
24 August 2013 - I've decided to take a break from a number of internet forums, including this one, for my own reasons.
I expect to be back at some time in the future, although at present don't know when that will be.
I've been here just a few days shy of six years, and those six years have been greatly blessed.

    ---

1Jn 4:1 NKJV Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1Th 5:21-22 NKJV Test all things; hold fast what is good. (22) Abstain from every form of evil.

Amen. We live in a society where "you aint a man if you don't have muscle, or women, or money" Glad im not the only one who disagrees with these standards.

I'll say that a real man is someone who knows his strengths and allows God to hone them for His use. The same man knows his weaknesses and surrenders them to God and allows God to hone them for His use.

~Limitations in a Christianís life are due to limited prayer and limiting obedience~

~Forgiveness has nothing to do with forgetting that moment... it's all about freedom FROM that moment.~

~Your needs activate God's compassion and faith activates God's power~

A "Real Man" is someone who follows, verbatim, all 12 pages of the Porch Law (even the stuff that contradicts the other stuff ).
We long to be known and we fear it like nothing else.
Most people live with subtle dread that one day,
they will be discovered for who they really are,
and the world will be appalled.

I like #2 especially, and it also sounds a lot like Hebrews 12:12-13; "Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Make level paths for your feet," so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed."

Many years ago I was asked by some of my work colleagues, if I was going to join them for a drink after work had finished. I replied NO!, I must be home because my wife will be expecting me.

One of them asked "Are you a man or a mouse?", I said "I guess I must be a man, because my wife is frightened of mice"

Very well put. Does one have to be married in order to be a real man, though?

(I know the answer, just playing devil's advocate ).
