They do not sound too much like AC DC to me. AC DC has a unique sound. Kind of like Guns N Roses. No one plays GNR songsl like slash. HE had a unique sound that is impossible to perfectly duplicate.

If you like the Bon Scott days, that band sure sounds closely withAC/DC.

I really do not like any era of AC DC. Having said that, they do not sound very close to me. I am also the one that goes to concerts and hates them because the bands sound awful compared to their studio releases.

Thats fine. Hear what you hear I will hear what I hear. Art / Music are not science. Different people interpret art in different ways. To me, they do not sound like AC DC. To you, they do.

Personally I find a lot of shrill operatic tones make me feel agitated while I can easily relax to the sounds of thrash metal. Describing thrash metal as soothing probably registers as off-the-scale-bizarre to most people but I have no problem lying back and chilling with a beer and a thrash metal album.

Pretty much the same here. Every now and then, I just need to crank some metal up and I find it completely relaxing. Heck, my wife, who loves choral and classical music, even enjoys some of that (maybe not a high volume ). If we want to enjoy both at the same time, then it's time for Carl Orff's Carmina Burana.

Interesting. I think it sounds much more like the Brian Johnson era . . . not that the band sounds different to me in those eras. But Bon & Brian are very different in style. Thus, the X-Sinner guy sounds like Brian to me.

They say in regard to news "if it bleeds, it leads". I think the same is true of rock music. In regard to the idea that Angus Young didn't learn guitar but a demon plays through him, that probably sells a lot more magazines than him saying he practiced for 2 hours a day from the ages 7-17 (I have no idea how much he worked - I'm just pulling numbers from the air).

Plus, the more reaction bands can get from the church, the more promotion they get and a lot of times the church looks foolish and gullible. It's all a win-win from their perspective I imagine. My opinion FWIW.

Hahaha, for me the sound of the band is in the music, not the singer. Although you are correct... Brian clone sounding!

Some people find that just the music itself makes them feel angry, and people who find that would probably be well advised to steer clear of it. I know what you mean. I'm a classically-trained vocalist, so I like to listen to soprano arias and can really appreciate the talent and skill that goes into singing a coloratura passage, but that doesn't mean I find it any more relaxing than, say, TobyMac or classic rock. If anything, with classical singers I start nitpicking their technique, or analyzing it to hear exactly what they're doing right, whereas with the more "rock type" styles, it's a lot easier to just sit back and enjoy the fun beats. (Not that it takes less skill to do those styles well, of course ) And hey, even without that factor, opera music can still get pretty intense. Plus you're right, not everyone appreciates that style of singing.

And Slash wasn't even in the original Guns 'N' Roses line-up. However, he was in the band by the time they recorded any of their official releases. (Well, one person told me he wasn't on their first EP, which I won't even give the name of on here, but I'm kind of skeptical of that.)

He said he does not even remember the concerts. He kind of blacks out when he walks on stage and wakes up when he is waling off stage.

I actually do the same thing. I don't know if I'd call it blacking out, but it's almost like I go into some kind of mental zone when I solo at church. And after I sing, I don't remember a thing about the performance. I don't think I'm demon possessed; it's just nerves.

That's interesting... From what I can find that song was released in '98, so if that's the case... What a bunch of copycats!

Hahaha, the plot thickens!

Seems that in the style of AC/DC any combination of the G, D, A chords to begin a song with the distortion set low will sound like AC/DC. You can combine those chords only so many ways... I've always felt this was part of the brilliance of their music.

i have never considerd AC/DC to be heavy metal... they have always been hard rock to me. Probably because i always listened to much heavier things then them.

although mostly in the last few years i have really gotten into them... well not the brian johnson era of AC/DC but more of the Bon Scott years...
