The people that -need- to see the proof ( Pics, DNA, military reports ect) already have the clearance that gives them access to it.

The people we'd care about believing it, already believe it. Those close to Bin Laden know. I read one story saying al Qaeda in Yemen had confirmed it.
Those who don't believe will not be convinced with a photo - these are too easy to doctor up. Unless a fake Bin Laden shows up, I don't see much point in releasing photos. Just like Hitler and Elvis, some people will never be convinced.
I am convinced he's dead, though I suspect many elements or the story are false. Especially Pakistan's involvement in hiding him over the years, and turning him over to the US, and what kind of deal was struck.

I've already seen pictures on the Internet of him shot in the head. It's pretty graphic, so I imagine that it won't be allowed to be posted on this site. I suppose there are people who will say these pictures are fake.

As for me and my house, let'em lay in private for about fifty years than show them. The crowd UBL ran in would just take the pictures, post'em to a mock grave and make a Martyr's shrine out of it. I don't really care. I agree that it won't change any minds one way or another - the conspiracy theorists will claim it's a fake, the people that aren't inclined to believe conspiracy theories don't need to be convinced. Hence I don't think there's a particular reason to release them and they're possibly inflammatory.
I don't particularly care if they do though, I don't think it'll have much impact either way except possibly retaliatory.

(CNN) -- A graphic image of what was reported to be Osama bin Laden's bloodied face, which went viral on the Internet and was plastered on the front page of newspapers around the world, is a fake.
The lower part of the photograph, which shows his partially opened mouth and graying beard, is almost identical to another image of bin Laden published years ago. The upper half shows his wounds in detail greater than that of the rest of the photo and there are unusual and abrupt shifts in the coloration of his skin.
A photographer consulted by CNN said the gruesome photograph is most definitely not real.
"I have seen a great number of poorly Photoshopped images in my time as a photographer and I can tell by the pixels that it is a fake," said Kenna Lindsay, a New York-based photographer who works with composite images.
The Guardian newspaper in Britain reported the picture is actually a combination of two photographs: a bloodied corpse and a real image of bin Laden that was taken in 1998 and used by the Reuters news agency.
And the President announced he would not release the photos and I pray he doesn't change his mind because the photo's will be everywhere...something I do NOT want my son to see. He wouldn't be able to even walk in a store without seeing in on the front page of every magazine and newspaper there is. And it would be impossible to watch the news to get any news without seeing this graphic photo. Then we wonder why our kids are insentive to life when we show stuff like this all the time? Car accidents...dead bodies from war and disasters. Makes me sick.
