Pakistani Christians ask for our prayers in this stressful time...

2011“But let all who take refuge in You rejoice; let them ever sing for joy; and spread Your protection over them, that those who love Your name may exult in You.” Psalm 5:11

Violence and hostility toward Christians were expected after bin Laden’s death. While some are relieved, others are uneasy about what the future holds as fear mounts over who will emerge as Al-Qaeda and the Taliban’s key leaders. The partnership of Al Qaeda and the Taliban relied heavily on Bin Laden's skill at consolidating the two organizations. The two groups are expected to transition from being independent and separate parts of the same organization into two different organizations. There is already evidence of infighting and power struggle between them. According to sources this will more than likely increase the chances of violence toward the church in Pakistan as all activities perceived as Christian and/or western will become a target.
Pakistani Christians say that they are at an extremely difficult time in their history and that now is the time for the church in Pakistan to rise and be a light and strength to their nation. During this time of uncertainty and transition they ask for our prayers for:
    • Asia Noreen Bibi; may she remain strong while in prison. Pray for her release and all charges to be dropped soon.
    • The Gujranwala region in Pakistan - almost 2000 people have left recently the region due to violence. Christians living in Gujranwala had thought that the size of their community would be a deterrent to attacks, but now they fear for their lives and the safety of their schools and the Seminary.
    • Christian Minister Kamran Michael and his family have put their lives on the line day and night to intervene for Christians in the region, their faithfulness and their tireless outpouring of Christ's love for their people is a blessing to Pakistani Christians.
    • Those accused of blasphemy and for those who are advocating for its removal from the justice system.
“The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. And those who know Your name put their trust in You, for You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.” Psalm 9:9-10

Please pray for "the least of these" in the Persecuted Church Prayer Forum at top.

Acts 21 Now they have been informed about you that you continually teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to turn back from and forsake Moses...Therefore do just what we tell you. With us are 4 men who have taken a vow upon themselves. Take these men and purify yourself along with them and pay their expenses [for a temple offering],...Thus everybody will know that there is no truth in what they have been told about you, but that you yourself walk in observance of the Law of Moses.
