WordPress ping optimizer

According to the plugin, WordPress pings the update servers to often which can get your blog listed as a spammer and your search engine ranking can suffer because of this. The plugin to fix this is here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/...ing-optimizer/

You can set the amount of pings per hour. I set mine to 1 ping per hour (default for plugin is 1 ping every 15 minutes) to make sure. There is also a list of services to ping which I added just tonight to my plugin. the one that should be already there is: http://rpc.pingomatic.com/

Each one in the list I will provide has to have a line break (empty line space) between each one. Just copy and paste just like I have. If you don;t want all of them, then just copy the first 11, those are the must have ones. I put them all in there to test. I will report back here as to my experience doing this. So if you are hesitant, just wait a few weeks.

Also if anyone knows that certain services should not be used in that list for whatever reason, let me know and I will remove it.

Just for the record, I'd set it to a lot less than once per hour. Possibly 2-3 times per day. Automated processes add up real quickly and 24 times per day may sound like a little but it's nearly 9k / year.

Just a report back on what's going on so far. I am starting to get a number of hits from several blogs, forums, and a few websites. Most are of a different language, which is fine. Because it gets the blog listed on other search engines for different languages. It's a slow start but it's picking up. If it continues my bandwidth may double in 6 months. This helps me get the message out more globally than locally, which more locally is the case currently. I have been wanting to reach out more, this seems to do it.
