So I need help picking out a game. Looks like I came to the right place. Couple weeks ago I gutted my PC and rebuilt it; its ready for action.

But I haven't played anything new in a while. I mainly play FPS. I really liked Half-Life 2. Far Cry was great. I thought Oblivion was great in concept, particularly having a relatively free landscape to roam around it. But I got bored with it, and I think that level scaling had some to do with it. But I'd probably try Skyrim.

I have not played any of the Mass effect games, but ME2 looks good.

Fallout 2 looks interesting, and Bioshock did too.

Guess you can tell I am a bit behind the times. Last game I bought was Portal (which was good).

So, what should I go for? ME2?

You gotta get fallout new Vegas, it was one of my all time favorite games, and with pc you can do a lot of mods on it.

I'm talking about the concept of enjoyment being sinful. It goes something like this...

(Of course I say that, but at least twice last week I was EXACTLY where I was supposed to be, and enjoying myself... and both times I tried to talk myself out of it because I had false guilt about not doing other things I needed to be doing)....

If you're going to play ME2, do yourself a favour and don't touch it until you've played ME(1). I recommend both highly (I'm as much a ME fanatic as HisLeast is a MineCraft fanatic), but the second is that much better if you've played through the first (meaning that while the second is good, I didn't find it as good as the first). As for Bioshock, the first is (imo) incredible, while the second is quite a letdown..

- Mass Effect 2 is that much better after playing Mass Effect 1
- Bioshock 1 rocks. Bioshock 2 doesn't count.

And Minecraft is 50 different flavors of awesome.

Haha im going to agree with your bioshock statement and the Me one also, bioshock 3 looks quite nice however, wonder if the point of the game will live up to the looks of it though.

So I took your advice and bought ME1. Being an FPS fan, I find some aspects of combat, and the inventory system, annoying. But overall its entertaining.

I found Shepard's love interest apparently believes in God. But will she shack up with Shepard? I'll have to build up some charm points and find out.

As with anything, there will be a few things you won't like (planet exploration might be one of them... Mind you, I quite enjoyed it myself). But your complaints were the common ones. I hope you enjoy it as much as HisLeast and myself did.

Apparently L.A Noire (may 17th) fills an entire blu-ray disc or for us 360 owners 3 DVD discs... which is no good

Yeah Brink comes out on Tuesday. It was in my sights for awhile but has since fallen off the rader due to the fact i can only afford one game this month which will be L.A Noire.

Saw on Steam that ME3 has been delayed until 2012. Meanwhile they had ME2 on sale for $10.
