    Has anyone used netflix

I am having my cable turned off soon, but I've thought about checking into Netflix or something else to get movies to watch occassionally. How does Netflix work? How many movies can you get at a time? I looked over the website a little, but wanted some feedback from others that may have used it. What about any other program that may rent out movies?

I have had them for almost three years. On my plan I can watch as many as I want one at a time. I watch one and return it and the next one arrives in two days.

They have different plans. Two DVD out at a time is their regular plan. Unlimited streaming of instant movies is what I use most. DVD through mail works great. Streaming works great so long as you have decent video card or a netflix ready device to hook up to your TV and assuming you have decent internet speed.

I have streaming Netflix and I love it. A great selection of old tv shows and so many movies. You can also get DVD's if you want to get the combined package. Much cheaper than cable.

We've had netflix for years - and we love it! We get the 3 movie plan for about $21 a month. I use it to test out workout dvd's, and of course we get movies. I love it because it's no pressure, keep a movie as long as you want, or return it immediately to get the next one on your list (we can have up to 3 dvd's at any time - for as long as we want to keep them - no additional charge). It's nice too because everytime I think of a movie i want to see, I just run to my computer and add it to the list. No pressure of standing in the video store staring at the shelves trying to remember (or think of) what movie we want to rent. The "watch now" (on your computer) movies and tv shows are great, too. It's a good alternative to cable because you can stick to what you want to see and nothing you don't.

I've moved from 1 DVD out at a time to just unlimited streaming. We would have a DVD just laying there on the counter for a month so we switched to what suits our needs.

Is this going to be for family use?

We have Netflix streamed through our WII console and it's fantastic. The only problem is that they don't offer all movies through stream. As an example, you can stream Ironman 2 but not the first Ironman. As far as I'm concerned, those are bluray keepers anyway but you get the point.

It's also good if you're into the hard to find, old classics that you might only be able to watch on TCM. A lot of them are DVD only but the price is still fair.

If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to cable, video stores and the redbox, I would recommend Netflix.

Question for you guys who have netflix? It seems like selection is really limited, is this just a netflix.ca thing or is it bad in the US as well?

Apart from selection, the service is great, you can just stream it anytime from anywhere.

I don't know if there's difference between Canada and the U.S. or not but there is a limitation. I think it's to get people to subscribe to DVD deliveries on top of the streaming. They add new movies and TV shows all the time so I'm guessing it may be a while before I run out of selection.
