BTW., there is a like button at the top of the page.

Awesome...but what does it do? It likes what someone posts and then posts it on FB? I am not sure I understand.
    love you by the way.

    Love you too Karen.

You know I'm not exactly sure about the like button either.

If anonymous goes through with it, it should be gone November 5th. (but then probably set back up shortly after)

Not everything. I despise FaceBook. The concept of it is OK, but it just torques me up how stupid some people act on it. I think people are hooked on FaceBook worse than a Heroin addiction. One of my friends told me I needed to get on it and find old friends from High school. I told him that if I have not seen them in seventeen years, I do not need to hear from them now.

I'm on Facebook and I like that fact that I'm able to keep tabs on my oldest son.

I hear you for sure. I dislike Facebook as well even though i do check mine about 4 times a day...

I've been thinking about it a lot. It seems every new communication technology seems to bring us closer to people but at the same time takes us further from them. People use to talk in person and only knew people that were close to them... then they invented paper and we wrote letters to people further away and that by far is a lot less personal then sitting down and having a cup of coffee, breathing the same air. Seeing the look on their face or hearing the tone of their voice, but still in a lot of ways very personal... they touched the same piece of paper, you look at their hand writing and in some case can even see how they felt as they wrote. then came the telephone and we called people even further away, yes we could hear their voice, sense there tone... but all you are really sharing with them is a length of wire... then came the internet and cell phones and texting... now all we share with people are the fonts our abbreviations are in and picture we aren’t in... i have people on my friends list that i have never even met in person... it kind of makes me sad but at that same time it's amazing that i can say i am friends with some one half a world away.

I agree with this. There are advantages to being on FB , but then again there are disadvantages also.

I always say that the internet is both a blessing and a curse. There was no such thing as identitiy theft or hackers or anything else, it simply didn't exist, so we didn't miss it.
Years ago things were more personal than they are now, otoh we are able to locate people we haven't seen or heard from in years.
A close childhood friend of mine found me on FB after 29 years!

I am a socialable person so I enjoy it, but sometimes I do worry about there being too much info about me on there.
I have set my privacy settings.

To each his/her own I guess.

    Re: Too much Facebook? ;)

There are ways to find people without facebook. There are ways to communicate with others without facebook.

Unfortunately, I've seen wars started because of facebook comments. I'm sure that some people can remain courteous and agreeable, but it appears that others cannot. That is no different than being in an internet forum, though.

I, personally, do not use facebook because it is impossible to keep up with it. It takes way too much time - which internet forums tend to do as well.
