Just WHO is the God of Jesus Christ?

Churchianity has taught Jesus God- DESPITE his denial, and all the details in scripture.
So who IS the ONE Jesus has always served?

Rev 3:12-he one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name.

You mean we can't have a "Bible Chat" about the One Jesus serves?

JW.... I didn't want to offend.... But your claim that Jesus denied He is God is decidedly Jehovahs Witness doctrine.... As such it is labeled "controversial".... And should have been posted there.... We can have a moderator move it ....

Jesus never denied He was God.

    John 10:30
My Father and I are one!”

    1 John 5:7
There are three Who speak of this in heaven: the Father and the Word and the Holy Spirit. These three are one.

    John 18:6
As Jesus said “I Am he,” they all drew back and fell to the ground!

    I do!

    The First and the Last.

    1. YHWH IS THE FIRST AND THE LAST!!!

Isaiah 44:6 - Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.

Isaiah 48:12 - Listen to me. O Jacob, And Israel, My called: I am He, I am the First, I am also the Last.

    2. JESUS IS THE FIRST AND THE LAST!!!

Revelation 1:8- I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is , and which was , and which is to come , the Almighty

Revelation 22:13- I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

(...but this is YHWH talking right? Well...actually... yes..., according to Isaiah 44:6, 48:12, and Revelation 1:8 the First and the Last is YHWH)

Now, take a look at Revelation 1:17.

    Revelation 1: 17
And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not;I am the first and the last:18 I am he that liveth , and was dead; and, behold , I am alive for evermore , Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death

Clearly this is Jesus speaking in Revelation 1:17, saying that He is the First and the Last. Now let's review...

In Revelation 22:13, the First and the Last says that He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.

In Revelation 1:8, the First and the Last is also the Beginning and the ending and the Almighty.

In Isaiah 48:12, the first and the last is the one who called Israel,

in Isaiah 44:6, the First and the Last is the only God, YHWH of Hosts, Israel's Redeemer and King, and YHWH, ( LORD)

So logically, Jesus is calling Himself God when He calls Himself the First and the Last in Revelation 1:17.

    3. Why did Jesus call the Father His God?

So why did Jesus call YHWH his God?

Because Jesus is not only Diety, He is Deity Incarnate.

Philippians 2:5-11-Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

So Jesus is not inferior to the Father, ( as demonstrated by points 1 and 2) it is just that within the Godhead, He is submitted to the Father in His role as Saviour and Redeemer of men. ( as demonstrated in point 3)

    1. Arians deny Jesus' true Deity.
    2. Gnostics deny Jesus' true humanity.
    3. The Bible teaches that Jesus is both Deity and human. Fully God and fully man.
1 John 1:7- But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

2 Corinthians 7:1- Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

    Jesus said:

Jn 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM.

The jews who were present, understanding the claim to deity this statement implied, sought to stone him.

Understanding who Jesus actually is affects our eternal destiny:

8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I AM, ye shall die in your sins.
Lord, one thing I ask...use me for your glory.

Re: Just WHO is the God of Jesus Christ?

Throughout the Old Testament, the oneness of Yahweh is stressed to the Nth degree. 'God' is not a substance, 'God' is a person. 'God' is a unique identity: Yahweh. Several characteristics of Yahweh are what distinguish him as the one true God. Yahweh created alone, Yahweh judges, calling on the name of 'the LORD' (Yahweh) saves, Yahweh alone sits on the throne in heaven, etc. In the book of Isaiah, Yahweh alone is 'first and last' and Yahweh alone will have every knee bow and tongue swear allegiance to him. It is not just that Yahweh happens to assign these attributes to himself out of fancy: he alone is these things because he is the one and only God.

The New Testament regularly puts Jesus in the role of Yahweh. Jesus created, Jesus judges, calling on the name of 'the Lord' (Jesus) saves, the Lamb shares the throne in heaven. For Jesus to be the 'first and last', and for Jesus to have every knee bow and tongue swear allegiance to him, is not just a reapplication of some poetic device. Jesus is being included in the unique divine identity of Yahweh.

Jesus is not just 'filling the role' of Yahweh. Jesus is not just a divine agent (e.g. 'the first creation') of Yahweh. If that was the case, then Yahweh didn't 'alone' create all things, Yahweh isn't 'alone' first and last, having every knee bow to him. It would mean he's sharing his glory with someone not Yahweh.

Jesus is being included in the unique divine identity of Yahweh. The man Jesus is Yahweh, the one true God. But, 'God' is not a what... 'God' is a who. For the man Jesus to be Yahweh does not mean he is tangibly made up of 'God substance' and 'human substance'. It means that his identity is Yahweh.

Jesus is the person of Yahweh as a man. Yahweh as man is the Son of God. Yahweh as God is the Father. Jesus, being man, has a God, just like every other man. The Father is Jesus' God, just as the Father is our God.

John 10:30 "I and my Father are one."

Your words betray a lack of understanding of Scripture. First of all, if you're going to claim that Jesus denied being God, you'd better be prepared to back it up with Scripture--Real Scripture, from the Holy Bible, and not a translation designed to accommodate false doctrine like the New World Translation. So please provide the Scriptural corroboration for your assertion. That will be the starting point for any exchange with you.

When we stand before the Judgment Seat, we will have retained only two things from our earthly life: what God gave us, and what we did with what He gave us.

If you're demanding a direct quote by Jesus, saying, "I am God," you won't get it. It's apparent that you understand neither the Scriptures concerning Jesus, nor the incarnation itself. Jesus had to be God in order to accomplish His purposes, but He also had to be a man--fully submitted to, and dependent on the Spirit of God within Him. Jesus said and did exactly as He was led by God, and did nothing divine of His own accord. He had to accomplish everything He accomplished as a flesh and blood man empowered by God. As this humble man, He was not given to boasting about His inherent deity. Paul addresses this restraint by Jesus in his letter to the Philippians:

5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, 7 but made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross!

There are a number of passages--some presented earlier, which you chose to ignore--that demonstrate Jesus' acknowledgment of His deity. A few other examples are: when Jesus told the Jews that Abraham had rejoiced to see Him (John 8:56). Could He have been seen by Abraham 2000 years before He was even born, unless He was seen as God? Indeed, Jesus said, "before Abraham was, I AM," intentionally using the very phrase that God used when Moses asked His name. When Jesus said, "I and the Father are one,' the Jews knew He was claiming deity and wanted to stone Him for blasphemy (John 10:30-33) When Thomas called Jesus, "my Lord, and my God" (John 20:28), wouldn't Jesus have rebuked Thomas if He were not God? When He said of His body, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up again," could He have done that if He were not God? There are many other passages that demonstrate the truth of Jesus being God, but I get the sense that you're looking for an argument, rather than proof for the deity of Jesus.

When we stand before the Judgment Seat, we will have retained only two things from our earthly life: what God gave us, and what we did with what He gave us.
