Have any of you undergone an Ablation?

I'm scheduled to have one and I'm wondering what to expect.

The way I understand the doctor uses very hot water to remove the lining of the uterus. Then I won't have a monthly period any longer. I've been experiencing very heavy bleeding.

I'm not sure if he plans to do it Friday when he does the mass removal and D&C or if he'll do it at a later date.

    I'll be praying too!

I do know one thing FOR CERTAIN...(because I had that heavy, painful bleeding too!), but after it is all behind you and you are recuperated, you'll wonder why in the world they didn't do it years sooner! I felt SO much better and STRONGER after. I did not realize how much this thing had drug me down, weakened me, and my blood count was WAY down. I was a mess and did not know it.

You'll feel like a new person!
    My favorite scripture: Malachi 3:16

"Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name!" (Every time we speak of the Lord, or even THINK of him--its written down in a book of remembrance!)

    Thank you sweet Judy

I'm looking forward to getting this taken care of so I'll feel back to normal. I plan to get a job and do all the stuff I've been too run down to do in it seems like forever.

All that will come AFTER you recuperate! I mean, don't expect to go out job hunting the next day. (Just teasing.) But...you really will feel so much better! Wait and see.

Let me affirm what was said earlier--you will wonder why you waited so long. Prior to the ablation I would experience 6-8 weeks of bleeding so heavy I'd soak pads in 15 minutes, or drench myself upon standing up. It required constant planning. Major inconvenience. We tried all sorts of anti-inflamatories, etc. I was probably 5 years post-menopause when an ablation was offered.

I experienced mild discomfort for about 12 hours -- nothing IB profin couldn't handle. Then a rather pale discharge for a week or so. Possibly longer--this was 4-5 years ago--and my only real reaction is to have no fear, no worries, and prepare to rejoice big time. The relief from the heavy bleeding is permanent. You can !!!! wear white capris !!! if you want to.

Update, we're not sure the procedure was successful. I had some bleeding last month. I am standing in Faith that this month there will be no more bleeding and all will be well.
