    Thumbs up The "Gift" shooting sideways (like a Thug)

    I sure do appreciate the "sideways" shooting prefered by dirt bags and thugs...

    I wonder how many LEOs and innocent civilians owe their life to whoever started this wonderful trend?

    Here is what I am talking about;

    Here is a Wiki on the "side grip".... it is rather comical just how clinical they can make such a foolish grip sound...

    I actually watched a young group of thugz (or wanna be s) at a local range some time back trying to hit a target like this... they were astounded by how poorly their Glock fired for them...

    They do that so if someone is gonna be slapped by uncontrolled recoil, it's the dude next to the one pulling the trigger

    They should try shooting a shotgun like that. Bend your wrist just a little and you either sprain or break it

    Most effective when the intended target is already lying down.

    My son is a sniper in the military (wouldn't particularly recommend this line of endeavor, but I am not ashamed of what he does either, he saves lives) and he would really get a kick out coming up against one of these tough guys. I suspect he would take their weapon away from them, shove it where the sun doesn't shine and then kick the handles off of it.

    Hmm gotta try that one of these days...
    Hear the word of the Lord, O nations, and declare it on the islands from afar, and say, "He Who scattered Israel will gather them together and watch them as a shepherd his flock."

    Yea, I'm not sure where the trend got started nor why. Interestingly, Mythbusters recently tested this and many other grips for shooting accuracy (unsurprisingly, this one was busted as a good technique).

    I actually shoot like that clearing buildings on the SWAT team when we are doing speed competitions. If someone does it properly, it is amazing how strong that grip is and how steady you can maintain plain of fire when moving rapidly.

    Sometimes the myth busters get it wrong. It has its particular application and is widely used by tactical operators.

    It's cultural--an intentional break from the conventional, along the same lines of Rap music, the cap on backwards, baggy pants, etc. Usually young black or Hispanic youths, but rapidly being emulated by white kids. What's disturbing is, the trends are often tightly interwoven into the "gangsta" lifestyle and mindset.

    When we stand before the Judgment Seat, we will have retained only two things from our earthly life: what God gave us, and what we did with what He gave us.
