Wow lot of info in this thread... unfortunately i disagree with a lot of it.

1. The 4 beast of Dan 7 are clearly Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, & Rome. Each empire conquering its predecessor. You cannot ignore the historical evidence and push the third & forth beast into the future. Nor can you throw Daniel 8 into the future.

"Concerning the two monarchies of Persia and Greece, v. 20-22. The ram signified the succession of the kings of Media and Persia; the rough goat signified the kings of Greece; the great horn was Alexander; the four horns that rose in his room were the four kingdoms into which his conquests were cantoned, of which before, v. 8. They are said to stand up out of the nations, but not in his power; none of them ever made the figure that Alexander did." (Matthew Henry Notes)

2. How can the Seleucid empire be considered "dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly (Dan 7:7 KJV)"?

While Antiochus was on his way to attack Egypt, a single Roman ambassador drew a line in the sand and totally punked Antiochus and his entire army.

3. The Selucid Empire did not conquer the entire earth, therefore it does not fulfill Dan 7:23

4. The little horn of Dan. 7 (papacy) cannot be the little horn of Dan. 8 (Antiochus) as they arise out of different empires.

The forth beast of Dan 7 (Rome) is also the beast that comes out of the sea in Rev. 13. Daniel clearly had trouble defining this beast in his vision, but John's beast has attributes of all of the beast in Daniels vision. This is made even clearer in Rev. 17:9

And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. (Rev 17:9 KJV)

Rome is known as the city of seven hills. While Vatican City is outside the old city walls, St. John's Basilica the ecclesiastical seat of the pope is located on Caelian Hill.

So now that we have established Rome as the forth beast and beast out of the sea, we need to identify the 10 horns/kingdoms & little horn. Well history shows us that 10 kingdoms arose out of the Roman empire the Ostrogoths, Visigoths, Franks, Vandals, Suevi, Alamanni, Anglo-Saxons, Heruli, Lombards, & Burgundians.

The Heruli (493 ad), Vandals (534 ad), & Ostrogoth's (554ad) were totally wiped out as a new power was emerging within Rome... the papacy.

The remaining kingdoms went on to become the European nations. It is interesting to note that men have tried to unite Europe for hundreds of years through marriage, wars, and laws and have all have failed miserably.

"And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay." (Dan*2:43*KJV)

The Papacy = the little horn.

eye's like a man = the desires and temptations of sinful man.
The devil tempted our Lord by showing him the whole world and saying he could have everything in it if Jesus would bow down and worship him (Matt 4:8-10). It is also interesting that when the devil tempted Eve in the garden she saw the fruit was pleasant to the eyes (Gen 3:1-6). Our Lord Jesus states:

"And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell."
(Mat*5:29*KJV)

The papacy seeks and claims universal dominion over not just all churches but over all men. The papacy also cloaks its clergy in purple & crimson and crowns the pope with a golden crown studded with pearls and gems (Rev. 17:4). The true church is not one who lust after riches of this world. It is also a well known fact that many popes have had multiple concubines and many illegitimate children. Pope Alexander VI even used his bastard son Cesare Borgia as the false image of Christ.

look familiar?

Mouth speaking great things = Blasphemy. In the bible the pharisees charged Christ with blasphemy for claiming to have the power to forgive sins and stating He was God. The pope takes the title vicar of Christ which means one serving as a substitute. The pope claims to be God on earth. The pope also claims the ability to forgive sins and claims to be infallible.

Seeks to change times and laws = "The Pope has the power to change times, to abrogate laws, and to dispense with all things, even the precepts of Christ." -Decretal, de Tranlatic Episcop. Cap.
Ferraris' Ecclesiastical Dictionary.

"Sunday is our mark of authority... the church is above the bible, & the transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact" - Catholic Record Sept 1, 1923

The little horn of Daniel 7 is depicted as the whore of Babylon in Revelations. In prophecy a woman represents a church this is why Christ is referred to as the bridegroom. The true church is HIS bride. Well the devil also has his bride (church)... the whore of Babylon. Jesus warned that false prophets would come in his name and would mislead many.

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
(Mat*7:16-23*KJV)

Is it just coincidence that the papacy has used an image of a woman holding a cup?
"And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:" (Rev*17:4*KJV)

I could go on and on and on with this information.

"For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way." (2Th*2:7*KJV)

"And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." (Rev*18:4*KJV)
