I've had rather bad experiences with large congregations. Safety and security in a group of people is based on trust, which is based upon relationships. Prayerfully find a small group and begin to form relational bonds with its members. Take your time and don't rush...and keep your eyes focused squarely on Jesus. Just as He kept Peter from drowning when Peter stepped out of the boat, He will lead you through this. The idea of being an outsider is nothing more than a wave of circumstance being shown to you by the enemy to take your eyes off Christ. Don't look at the circumstances, as did Peter, and sink!
