    The Bus.

    The Bus.
A week ago or so I broke one of my front teeth, eating a sweet. So I rang the dentist not long after for an appointment to have it seen too. To-day I made my self ready for my appointment this afternoon. Everything went well and they temporally capped it till I can go and have it crowned, in about a months time. So talking to the receptionist after my check up and temporary crown I made my way out of the building up the road to-ward the bus stop. halfway along the road I turned to see the bus coming, so when it got nearer I put my hand out to show I wanted to get aboard, I accelerated half running half walking, some one got off and several seconds later I was on the bus thanking him for waiting. I was so pleased to get on board, it was a relief the thought of not having to walk up the hill in my home village, as this bus goes straight passed my house. So off we set going through the castle wall and along and down the hill to pick up school children going to the next village before mine.Just as we were passing the school a young school boy ran straight in front of the bus just missing running him over. If the bus had come a few seconds earlier he'd have been killed or seriously hurt. The boy turned to look in horror his ear phones dangling from his ears, he hadn't seen or heard the bus coming. Are you thinking what I am thinking. Alan

Yep. One of those miracles that people sometimes miss. I suspect a lot of miracles happen around us all the time and often people never know they have happened.

And to think that some folk think that God does not take part in our day to day lives. One day we will see just how many times we were saved like that young boy. That's why I don't let traffic jams or stop lights frustrate me. How do we know that the Lord isn't using them to protect us? I once got a flat on the interstate, and narrowly missed a huge pile up a mile further down the road! Changed my attitude to these things forever!! Praise God for His care and protection!

    blessings to you

Love the story! I think we will all be amazed when we one day see the many miracles of mercy the Father visited upon us and those around us during our lives on earth.

    Re: The Bus.

hello, the following day after the story of the bus, we had the children up for tea with us. We have a prayer before eating and some chat while eating, two of the children go to the school were the young boy was nearly killed. Unbeknown to my Wife and I, they reported how a young child had been killed that week in a car accident from their school. This week is the child's funeral, I didn't want to say anything on hear say, but from a reliable source, the car had been stolen and by all accounts, there was alcohol, and under-age driving resulting in the death.Alan.

Hello, my Wife and I were travelling on the bus to-day,home from shopping, usually the bus is reasonably quite. But to-day there were a group of people talking quite loud, and when we came near to an area outside of the main town they looked over to the left of the bus were a small Church and a grave yard are. This is were the funeral of the young child was being buried, as they talked about the child being involved in joy riding and how tragic it had been.We were about twenty miles from home, this was no coincidence we were there to hear what was being said.
Yesterday the word's came to me, The Lord gives and the Lord takes away, I looked in the Bible and couldn't find the words, maybe I wasn't looking hard enough, then it came to me were I had heard the word's before. It was at funeral's I had heard these word's before.Alan.

    Re: The Bus.

Hello, I Googeled the words, The Lord gives and The Lord takes away, this is what I found It was in, Job 1. I have tended not to read Job fearing the same might happen to me. The words came to me not to fear, because nothing was going to happen because I had read Job.

    King James Version Job 1

1 There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil.

2 And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters.

3 His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.

4 And his sons went and feasted in their houses, every one his day; and sent and called for their three sisters to eat and to drink with them.

5 And it was so, when the days of their feasting were gone about, that Job sent and sanctified them, and rose up early in the morning, and offered burnt offerings according to the number of them all: for Job said, It may be that my sons have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts. Thus did Job continually.

6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

7 And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.

8 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

9 Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

13 And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:

14 And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them:

15 And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

16 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

17 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chaldeans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

18 While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother's house:

19 And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

20 Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,

21 And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

    Re: The Bus.

Hello, I have now started reading my way through Job, having been fearful of doing so, as mentioned before. Having the fear that if I read it would also come Upon me,
I have tended not to read Job fearing the same might happen to me. The words came to me not to fear, because nothing was going to happen because I had read Job.
The first thing that struck me in Chapter one that Job did not blame God for all that came upon him.
    King James Version Job 1
22 In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

Also that it is classed as a sin.
I am up to chapter three were his friends call upon him! I think by reading on, it will be good for my Soul, Alan
