    New family-friendly search engine

For those who haven't heard about this, "Yippy" is a new faith-oriented search engine that seeks to filter out the filth and danger that lies hidden in cyberspace these days. And it doesn't track and gather personal information on its users to sell to marketers, either. I've been using it a while, and it performs just as well as Google or Yahoo, and offers email, news, games, etc. So, if you're looking for a family-friendly alternative to the invasive practices of the big outfits, Give yippee.com. a try. Here's a little intro from the site, stating its vision and purpose:

    http://search.yippy.com/about

When we stand before the Judgment Seat, we will have retained only two things from our earthly life: what God gave us, and what we did with what He gave us.

I'm afraid it doesn't work. I searched for Glenn Beck and was still able to find results.

    Just kidding.....(ducks)

I'm glad to hear there are more and more tools available for parents who care to keep trash out. One of the biggest fears I have in having kids is that it seems like preventing exposure to pornography would be impossible.

It works exactly just like Google, Yahoo or Bing, with no downloading involved. Just type in www.yippy.com and search as you normally would. Setting up email, checking news, images, etc., works just like Google and the rest of the search engines. If the AVG is part of Google, it won't be there with Yippy.

It's getting worse and worse. Yippy is new, but I like the faith-oriented aspect they operate under. Ironically, Glenn Beck advocates this search engine, so you might wanna be careful.

While pornography is still extremely dangerous, unfortunately we men have more difficulty standing in line at the checkout or watching television. Exposure to or rather stumbling blocks are all over the place.

I guess you haven't done many searches on google. I don't agree with trash magazines either but.....its not even close to the same.

I do have a lot of trouble standing in line at the checkout, but not because of the magazines. It's because I would rather mud and tape drywall for half a day than go shopping.

What I meant was that you have porno filters and blockers and such and once those are installed, what then? I didn't mean to imply that internet pornography is not a huge problem, just after 'cuttin' your hand off" some many more 'practical' stumbling blocks still surround us and there are no blockers for those except some serious "taking thoughts captive" obedience.

Well if I have a kid who sees the rag on the safeway shelf is talking about how KK has the 'best beach bod', but they are not able to load up a hardcore swingers orgy with a quick google search, I will consider that a success in this culture.

I do agree that ultimately its the values that determine things. But the same values have different results depending on the expose to temptation as well.

Oh yea! I know this to be true! I was in the checkout line last week, and there was this cover story about Bat Boy! I couldn't stop looking at the pictures.
