With all the things we have to deal with on a daily basis, it's easy to be anxious and worry about stuff. Even little things can get to us, if there are enough of them. They build up until we find ourselves focusing on the problems instead of the problem solver. We forget all the promises God has given us, we forget that we're not dealing with this alone, for God knows exactly what we need and what we're going through. He knows our tomorrow way better than we know our yesterday! It's in these difficult times that we need to turn our attention to Him, and trust Him with our concerns. Jesus said about worry-
Matthew 6:27-30
Amplified Bible (AMP)
27And who of you by worrying and being anxious can add one unit of measure (cubit) to his stature or to the [a]span of his life?(A)28And why should you be anxious about clothes? Consider the lilies of the field andlearn thoroughly how they grow; they neither toil nor spin.
29Yet I tell you, even Solomon in all hismagnificence (excellence, dignity, and grace) was not arrayed like one of these. [I Kings 10:4-7.]
30But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and green and tomorrow is tossed into the furnace, will He not much more surely clothe you, O you of little faith?
Worry and fretting will not change anything.Wringing our hands and pacing up and down, biting our nails or any other sign of anxiety will do nothing to help. All it does is churn up our emotions and takes our attention away from God, who can give us peace and rest. Instead we should pray and believe what scripture says.
1 Peter 5:7
Amplified Bible (AMP)
7Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns,once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about youwatchfully.(A)
Psalm 37:7
Amplified Bible (AMP)
7Be still and rest in the Lord; wait for Him and patiently lean yourself upon Him; fret not yourself because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked devices to pass.
God loves us, so much more than we understand. He cares what we're going through and wants to help.He sees us where we are, and wants to give us peace.
Ezekiel 36:9
New International Version (NIV)
9 I am concerned for you and will look on you with favor;
Hebrews 13:5-6
New International Version (NIV)
5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.”[a]
6 So we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?”
His love is enough, and His arm is strong enough to deal with whatever we're going through.We must make the decision to trust Him.
Jeremiah 17:7-8
New International Version (NIV)
7 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD,
whose confidence is in him.
8 They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”
Psalm 73:26
New International Version (NIV)
26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart
and my portion forever.
Philippians 4:6-7
Amplified Bible (AMP)
6Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.7And God's peace [shall be yours, thattranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Instead of using all our energy on worry and stress, let us turn to God. Let us lay our problems at the foot of the cross, and give thanks to Him who has everything under His control. He is faithful beyond anything we can grasp, I mean, our minds just can't relate to such faithfulness. He will do what He has promised! We can rest in that knowledge, for He will bring us through any trial, and will use every situation for our good! That's a promise!
blessings to you
