    Obama quotes Jesus

In an obvious effort to promote his taxation policies among the faith-oriented voters, Obama recently quoted the words of Jesus before a prayer breakfast audience: "to whom much is given, much will be required." Never mind that he took the words completely out of context, or that he seemed oblivious that he had even had done so. (Blame the speech writer). If our President really wants to emulate Jesus in his policies, he should start with his stance on abortion.

Satan quoted God, so I am not surprised.

What gets me is, his segue into that quote was stating that his faith in Jesus guides his policies. If he is really basing his policies on Jesus as his example, how can he support things like Gay marriage and abortion? Another statement by Jesus, "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesars, and unto God the things which are God's" seems to me, to conflict with Obama's use of his quote.

Obama will be judged by his words...whether his czars approve of the judgement or not. Our elected officials are insane.

"How can someone with similar religious beliefs to mine possibly have different opinions on any political issues??" Also how on earth does "Render unto Caesar" contradict a policy suggesting that people with more money should pay more taxes?

If Obama had referred to any religious figure other than Jesus, everyone would be all "HE'S A HEATHEN!" Whereas his actually quoting Jesus leads to..."HE'S A HEATHEN!" Can't win around here.

    Re: Obama quotes Jesus

Obama says he is a Christian. Yet, he does not seem to understand what it takes to be a Christian. He says that his eternal salvation comes from collective salvation (still available on Youtube).

Ephesians 2:8,9 says, For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves,. It is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."

At the heart of Obama's use of the Bible is his belief in a "universal, collective salvation". By that I mean that he believes a person attains salvation through service to humanity. This is a common theme with progressives. Many black preachers including Rev. Wright equate social justice and racial equality with redemption. That's works-based heresy and it's straight from hell. There is only one way to be saved and that's thru Christ....and it is individual salvation. I can't be saved for you nor you for me. That simply is not God's plan! Obama was using the Bible as a political ploy to sway people's perception of him as being a Christian. Why be surprised? Even Satan took scripture out of context to deceive Eve. He tried it on Jesus and. it didn't work. Obama misquoted because he misinterpeted the Word of God to try to justify his human effort. Obama is NOT a Christian!! That blaspemer shouldn't be mentioning the Bible at all. He is of his father, the devil as far as I concerned!

Of course he quotes Jesus. Is Obama not the One?

Hear the word of the Lord, O nations, and declare it on the islands from afar, and say, "He Who scattered Israel will gather them together and watch them as a shepherd his flock."

You do love to cross swords with people, don't you? Obama's Christianity differs vastly from the Gospel of Jesus Christ. According to the Apostle Paul, each individual must work out his own salvation in fear and trembling. Obama seems to believe God saves people as a group--if everyone is not saved, nobody is saved:

"My individual salvation is not going to come about without a collective salvation for the country."
    -Barack Obama, 1995

"My individual salvation rests on our collective salvation."
    -Barack Obama, 11/23/2004

"Our individual salvation always depends on our collective salvation."
    -Barack Obama, 5/27/2007

"Our individual salvation depends on collective salvation"
    -Barack Obama, 5/28/2008

(Personally, I'm going to go with Paul on this one).

Obama's confused version of Christianity also seems to think that all roads lead to heaven, and that any one who believes in a "higher power" is good to go:

"I'm rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is the belief that there is a higher
power, a belief that we are connected as a people...that there are values that transcend race or culture, that move us forward, and there's
an obligation for all of us individually as well as collectively, to take responsibility to make those values lived."
    -Barack Obama, April 5, 2004

Obama may be a Christian, but it is a Christian faith forged in the congregation of Jeremiah Wright, and embodies a collective salvation that is diametrically opposed to the teachings of Jesus Christ. He is a professing Christian in much the same way that Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses are. Is his faith "guiding his policies" when he advocates ungodly practices such as abortion and same-sex marriage? Maybe you don't have a problem with his selective adherence to the teachings of Jesus whenever it's convenient, but don't point your finger of accusation at people who do.

When we stand before the Judgment Seat, we will have retained only two things from our earthly life: what God gave us, and what we did with what He gave us.

Or "Obama uses Jesus for his own gain, again."

Of course, it seems that's all the rage with politicians these days, on either side of the political coin. Dangerous stuff their playing with.

At least he didn't quote a bad person like hitler or saddam.
Every temptation is of the devil, and every sin leads to death.

I reckon purging the temple of money-changers is out of the question?
