I find it VERY hard to "pick and choose" what I believe in. I mean, if the story about Creation is made up, then maybe the prophecies about Jesus are made up too? Etc, etc.
I want to believe in everything in the Bible, but after a secular education, and against scientists who say they have the objective truth, it's not that easy.
So here is an attempt to check what people find it hard to believe in.
I do not mean to stir up any hard feelings and I do not judge or critisize people who look at this from a different angle than me. I am hoping for an honest opinon on what stories from the bible are less easy to believe in. If you think of something else which did not occur to me, please write about it in a comment!
"I find it hard to believe in..."
I have no problem believing in any kind of miracle, for with God anything is possible. The last one regarding Revelation is interpreted differently by different believers. Some hold the visions of Revelation occurred in the Past, ( Preterist), some that the visions span history from the first to second coming, ( Historicist), and some hold that most, ( though not all the visions in Revelation) are yet future, ( Futurist). I believe that some of the visions of Revelation were fullfilled in the first century, some have happened down through the centuries, and much will be fullfilled in the future, so I don't know which category I would fall in.
The Bible doesnt give us the age of the earth, but it does tell us that it was created in six days. I have no problem in believing that. God could have created it in the blink of an eye if he wanted to. I also do not have any problem with the fact that the universe appears old. Adam was created fully grown, so he had the appearance of age, so what's to say that the universe was not created with the appearance of age, i.e what appears to have taken billions of years occurred over days; (God's power wonderfully forming and shaping the universe). And if I'm wrong about a relatively young earth, and the earth is billions of years old, that doesnt make the Bible any less accurate, because the Bible does not state the age of the earth anywhere. I myself believe that the earth is a lot younger than what "old age" earth proponents believe, but I would not limit it to less than 10,000 years. No the story of creation was not made up.
Definitely believe in the historical accuracy of the Bible, definitely believe it is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible word of God in it's originals, ( and the translations are wonderfully accurate, just stay away from the New World Translation and be cautious with paraphrases), and definitely believe that the miracles recorded in the Bible were supernatural acts of YHWH. Put me down in the I believe it all category. God Bless
PS- the most amazing and unbelievable thing in the Bible is that God loved a sinner like me so much that He sent His only Son to die for me. The Love of God is unfathomable, yet I believe, because the Bible tells me so, and I have tasted and seen that the LORD is GOOD. Science, philosophy, and the wisdom of man cannot explain or disprove what God has done for His own, but those who have been touched by God know and understand.

1 John 1:7- But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
2 Corinthians 7:1- Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
"My heart was once hard and dark. Then God turned on the Light and the Water."
