New and Improved
A belated, but warmed-over and very heartfelt, happy birthday, my friend! I can hardly believe it's been a year since the last one. I remember when I was a kid, a year was an eternity, and I couldn't wait to grow up. Now, the years are going by so fast, I wish life had a brake pedal. (And a rewind, fast-forward, and pause button!) I don't know how old you are, but it seems a cruel irony to me that the more birthday candles we earn by our longevity, the less breath we have to blow them out.
