have people gone insane? If that was my child, I'd be raising all kinds of stinks. I think I'd even consider a lawsuit.
I remember when my mother, since there was 7 of us to send to school and little money to go around, had to send us to school with a hard boiled egg in each coat pocket -- our hand warmers! Which we peeled and ate later for breakfast. And we had MASHED POTATO SANDWICHES for lunch!
And had they taken our lunch, my mama woulda been there having a real fit, causing a real loud ruckous that that school and at the school board meetings.

I don't see any problem with this. Why is it wrong that the state tries to help children to eat healthy if the parents don't?
In my country, all kids are served free healthy cooked school lunches in a canteen. Anything else would be unthinkable. There are definitely no crisps or any peanut butter on the menu.
