Good article, Saved. You "connected the dots" to show how Jesus was dedicated to His Father's business of saving souls, and increasing the aggregate wealth of the Father's glory. Building on your theme, I would add that the business centers around a great, worldwide harvest, that ministries are like franchises, and that we are like investors who own stock by investing our lives in the company--and that we have an awesome retirement package awaiting us that is both "out of this world," and "to die for."![]()
Amen and thank you for adding more wealth this article. Indeed it is out of this world and even worth dying for! What a blessing it is to have the opportunity to invest in such a great Kingdom.
Tremendous, refreshing and very timely article particularly concerning the oft misunderstood term sons of God. Probably more false doctrine dispensed under the all too often preached and presumed notion that all humans are somehow already included in that number, than anywhere else. But your message goes much further, at once convicting the believing reader of the acute responsibility he carries as a pilgrim in this lost world. Thank you also for the careful and clear insight into the Son-ship of Christ and what it entails.
It was a pleasure to read.
I cannot add anything to what they have said. This is a wondrous article, and if more people were "about the Fathers work" then this would be a much better world.

You know, I think too that sometimes this is how we can know we really are 'sons of God'. Or daughters. When my path crosses with those who are 'about the Father's business', oh my...it lights a spark deep within me, and that spark is contagious, it seems. Things that person is doing, or saying, ignites the spark within me and makes me want to 'be about my Father's business'.
May I, like Jesus, 'finish the work' he gave me to do! Even though sometimes it may not be easy, I have a longing to be about my father's business. And it seems to me there is a kindred spirit with others who want that same thing.
Thanks so much for your encouraging words all!I was so afraid that I would hear crickets, but instead I'm hearing a resounding "amen!" It's unfortunate that I couldn't share all that God has shown me about this, but alas, I was limited to how many words I could write.
....
Diggin', you said it exactly, when you meet someone of the same spirit and mind, the sparks fly!
And IMINXTC....Such a beautifully written response, I am left wondering if you are that guy who writes the commentaries about books or movies...ya know, the ones on the back of a book, listed with all those other folks making commentaries.Don't know what those folks are called, but thanks so much.
commentators! That's what they're called. You sound like a commentator.![]()

I really like this article. It gave me a lot of inspiration. I also agree that it is in our power to live for God and do our Father's work. I think that we are all children of God though. I believe once you are a born again Christian you are supposed to do God's work, but God created us all and I believe that makes us all his children. I agree that it does state througout the Bible that we are children of God by our Faith. Galatians 3:26, Romans 9:8, and Ephesians 5:1. I think until we reject God as our Saviour then we are all his children. I like Sojourner 55 analogy about the business. I want to own a lot of stock in HIS company! I believe we should all want to do the Father's work and that is our duty. If we do not carry that out I think we are sinning!
Also to add to my comment... Galatians 3:26 says "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus." This adds to my belief on us all being children of God.
Saved7, you did a great job!! on this article
LRBEAR,
Thank you for your comments. I do believe, however, that you may be missing the point here. When we place our faith in Christ, it's because we believe and trust God. When we believe God, we live like we believe, instead of continuing in sin. Therefore, often times the apostles wrote to these churches to encourage them to live holy lives, lives that were committed to the Father's will, just as Jesus was. As a TRUE son or daughter of God we are to be fully committed to God's desires and will, that He may be glorified. Just calling yourself a Christian and believing that we have been adopted according to the scriptures, isn't quite actually BEING a child of God. We must also strive to know Him more and be made more and more into the image of Christ, who was all about the will of the Father. Do we have the character of Christ who totally sacrificed all that He was for the will of the Father? Or do we have the character of ourselves, who make sacrifices for our own gain?
Great message Saved7.
What a refreshing article, thank you for the insight into the use of those words of God when they were spoken. It sure makes a difference in the interpretation doesn't it.
He has left us plenty of evidence in His words too for us to observe before that Great Day, which of us are His good an obedient children/sons and daughters, and which are not.
So my side note is: I will still refer to all of us as His children.
But we are either His obedient children or His disobedient children, for me anyway I can tell by observable evidence using His words to observe which of us are and which are not "obedient" sons or daughters of His.
But I know too that none of us His children can or will be titled as children of another father until Christ makes that pronouncement on each of us individually on that Great Day.
Today by His mercy we still have opportunity to change our final and eternal title that will be given to us by Christ on that Great Day.
God bless you good servant and friend of my Master.

great message Saved!..so much of understanding is context, meaning of a particular word and the way they did things or the culture. I do not believe God loves all humans, Galatians 3:26 says "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus." See the words" by faith in Christ Jesus." Many do not have this faith, much less believe in Christ.
Another verse: Romans 9:10–13 And not only so, but also when Rebekah had conceived children by one man, our forefather Isaac, 11 though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad—in order that God’s purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of him who calls— 12 she was told, “The older will serve the younger.” 13 As it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.”
God Bless
Greetings Saints , good stuff the kind that edifies .
Ephesians 2:8
for by grace ye are having been saved, through faith, and this not of you -- of God the gift,
Romans 5:15
But, not as the offence so also [is] the free gift; for if by the offence of the one the many did die, much more did the grace of God, and the free gift in grace of the one man Jesus Christ, abound to the many;

Jesus told the Pharisees who rejected him that they were of their father, the devil, so they weren't God's children because they didn't share in God's attributes.
