Sons of God, those created originally by God. The angels were called sons of God, Adam was a son of God, Jesus was the only begotten Son of God. Then all born again believers or the chuch are sons and daughters of God because God has created a new human spirit and replaced the old Adam spirit that had sinned. John 1:13 "who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor ot the will of man, but of God". This and only this gives you the right to be called sons of God. John 1:11-13. All man that have commited only one sin are guilty and sentenced to death. The body, soul and spirit is on death row. The sentence was not taken away by Jesus. A quilty person is not repairable or fixable. Jesus takes your old Adam spirit and places it into His own death by spiritual baptism. Romans 6:6. Trust me, your body and soul will face its sentence of death unless the rapture takes place. A born again person is justified in their human spirit. The human spirit has been crucified with Christ. It has faced its sentence of death. This is the reason you have the right to be called sons and daughters of God and this only!

After your spirit is crucified in the death of Jesus (Romans 6:3), God creates a new human spirit to replace the one that has sinned. A new creation made by the hand of God the Father, so I can cry "abba, my Father" only because I am a New Creation that has been placed into Jesus that has just come to take up residence in my body, making it the temple of God. Then I have the right to be called a son or daughter of God. We are sealed in Him at the point of being born again Ephesians 1:13 NASB. Then our spirit will never sin again. 1John 3:9 "no one who is born of God commits sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God". This is speaking of your human spirit. We still sin in soul and body and must bring them under submission and stop sinning or we will suffer in this life. God says to be Holy because He is Holy. Now He would not command you to do something without giving you the power to do it that comes from His indwelling presence.
Thank you. What a lovely insight to receive after so long an absence from the forums.
May The Holy Spirit continue to inspire you.
You can NEVER Out-Give God. Try Him, you'll be embarrassed!
