Thread: A question on windows key numbers.

  1. #1

A question on windows key numbers.

Sometimes when I work on someone's PC they don't have the cd's for repair of XP. I don;t want to use my cd's for repair because it changes the CD key on the system, right? So if I use my cd is there a way to re-enter their cd key numbers instead of mine? I have seen the option to change the key and often wondered if that was how but was to uneasy about trying that.
Note: By request I can only post and see the tech section of this forum. So don't respond to my posts in the other sections because I cannot see them so I cannot respond. You can PM me if you need to.

Here is a good article on it(found by a quick google search )

Here is one that works on numerous windows OSs and is easy to use.

Yes you can use the 'change activiation key program' a link to MS How to change the product key And here's a youtube video that shows the steps. You can use either ViewKeyXP or Magical Jelly Bean to find the key or if you're lucky there's a sticker on the machine.

Here's an easier way: convince your clients (and you as well) to use Linux. You won't have this problem, nor viruses, blue screens of deaths, lock-ups, slow computers or other attitudinal problems--- and it's free!!. I can't figure for the life of me why Microsoft made it where they did other than people are sheeple or otherwise following the masses (as money talks). Who would pay money for problems when for FREE they have none? Incredible.

If my house ever burned down and a kind-hearted person would pay for and offer me a Microsoft laptop to replace the computers I lost, I would graciously accept it, and then format the thing in front of them destroying the Microsoft and install Linux over it. That's how much I love the OS, and is the Christian thing to do (the right thing).
Don't bother to answer me because I left this board for good. I'm interested in what the bible really teaches, so, geez why did I end up here (if that says anything)?
