I will be praying for you and Brenda, friend.
I will be praying for you and Brenda, friend.
1 John 1:7- But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
2 Corinthians 7:1- Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
Hello, Brenda has had her operation yesterday and all went well, she went down to the operating theatre at 1.45pm and was back on the ward 3.15pm. And was wide awake by the time we arrived at visiting time 6.30pm. Brenda looked very good, and it showed on her face it was over, thank you for your prayers I will update soon. Kindest Regards Alan![]()
Praying to the Father that He will be with both of you, offering the peace and comfort that can only come from Him. I pray that He will lay His hands upon Brenda and heal her.

Jeremiah 29:12
"Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you."
Philippians 4:5-7
5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
What I would like to write about is prayer, Jesus speaks about seeking the Kingdom of God first. Then going on to say Farther God knows what we have need of. Over my life time I have always had my needs met,and just recently when I have had to get Brenda to Hospital to have operations and treatment for cancer. There would be someone to take us to the Hospital, personally we would have liked our own car, but it wasn't to be. So the question is should I pray to be able to afford our own car, or should I pray for the Kingdom of God, and trust the Lord's provision.I have in the past gone into debt to run our own car, but now I live within our means and keep within our budget. This brings its own benefits by not worrying about getting into debt, and having peace of mind, which is all about one of the aspects of the Kingdom and more.
King James Version Matthew 6
28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:] for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
One thing of many, was that, Brenda could only cope with one day at a time, as she went through her treatment. Even saying to the nurses don't tell me to much about the treatment till the time it will happen. These are my thoughts to-day......Alan![]()
Kindest Regards for all your prayers, the story continues as Brenda waits to see the Oncologist.
Hello, it was a week ago Brenda had her operation, to-day being the seventh of May.I haven't been able to write till to-day about Brenda's medical side of things. Her operation went well and the surgeon removed 10 lymph nodes,One was cancerous and the rest were OK. After a couple of day's Brenda was home with a drain connected to the area of the operation, then after a couple of days this was removed, back at the Hospital. While we were there we met the Surgeon who said everything had gone well, but because of the size of the tumours in the right breast he thought chemo therapy would be necessary, and the oncologist would discuss this with Brenda later.Brenda is exercising her arms, because the lymph nodes were removed from the right under arm, this arm would be prone to infection, because this is what the lymphs do apparently, keep the arm from infection. The blood is OK going down the arm but not so good coming back up.So the arm has limitations, ie cuts, gardening scratches, soil etc, you know what I mean. My next challenge is to get Brenda out and about and keep up the diet Our Daughter has given us to follow. Then on to the oncologist in about 10 day's, your prayers have made such a difference,so thank you Jesus for your Faithfulness in your people, Kindest Regard's Alan![]()

Still praying for Brenda and you. Thank you for keeping us up to date !
Alan, may God strengthen you as you care for Brenda, may He enfold you with His presence![]()

Thank you, I should now do an update, Brenda is going for physio to-morrow Tuesday 22nd. After the operation on her under arm, mobility needs restoring, which we were told would need doing by the nurses. The arm has been the most painful compared to the chest area. Our Pastor offered the use of his car to go to the Hospital,so He Peter will take us to-morrow in his car, most grateful, He's only 83 years young. Thank you for your continuing thoughts and prayers they are most welcome and appreciated, Alan![]()
A Beautiful Sunny Day.
To-day has been a beautiful sunny day as our friend took us to the hospice inside the hospital grounds. My Wife was dreading going because the thought of the unknown, was the pain going to be to much to bear. As we parked up we asked directions it was just up the way, as we walked in it was a place much like home even a little shop. We introduced our selves at reception and we were directed to sit in a lounge area and invited to help our selves to a cup of tea. Then the Lady came out of a corridor who Brenda had come to see, I asked if it was OK to come too and observe, the answer was a polite yes of course. The room we entered was very pleasant and well stocked with equipment, Brenda had come to have her arm manipulated after an operation, to increase movement. The Physiotherapist was helpful, skilful and kind in nature and put Brenda at ease straight away.As the therapy preceded the therapist found a restriction under the arm which made a click and the arm movement increased, Brenda was smiling as she realised it wasn't to bad after all. When the sessions had finished we went for a cup of tea in the lounge, and another nurse came and showed my Wife around, for when she would come to visit again, to have further physiotherapy, back massage, foot massage and other therapy's to help after her operations for cancer, in preparation for possible radiation and chemotherapy. This verse is very relevant to the person who came to help my Wife and I many years ago and this week when we needed a lift to the hospital.
Rom 1:9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;s;
I have waited till I could understand this verse, there is something there that just means something. Peter who came to see us is a man of God, and he hears from God, and he is a prophet. I said to him I have waited to see you this week before making a move on several things in our life that I need advice on.
The first was my car, should I scrap it or try to get it on the road again, the second was my late Mothers house, a builder has offered a lowish price should I accept it.
I must say he is not a fortune-teller giving advice on the future, I want Gods wisdom into the problems that have been with us for many years especially with my Mothers house. We were able to spend time talking to-day before and while in the hospital with my Wife. Saying let's get a road worthiness test on the vehicle and see how much it's going to cost to put it on the road, you need a car to get you up and down the hill and take your Wife out and about. It's not as if you need to go far, just locally.
The advice on the second problem about the house was, I should take the offer from the builder. Its been a long time on waiting for my Mothers house being free to sell, and with my Wife being ill its time to finish with this ongoing problem.
Before we set off to the hospital my Wife said to Peter I feel awful asking you to take us when we haven't seen you for an age. The reply was we are established in our relationship, there is no reason to feel that way.
I am saying we have become family in Christ. Even after years or months apart there is a special bond in Christ Jesus between us that can not be broken, not even by death.
So I began preparing my car as much as I could this week to go for the road worthiness test. Then I made an appointment with my solicitor to discuss and accept the offer for the house, except my Wife thought I should put a higher price into the builder.
Now this bothered me asking for more money, in the sense I was going beyond what was said to do. Were I am coming from, in the Bible it talks about not going beyond what God has said through the prophet, as things are not going to work out, as you are going beyond what the Lord has said.( I should sell at the price the builder offered) I was advised to be decisive in my actions, be a man and make the decisions needed, and take full responsibility for ones actions.
So when I went to the solicitors I put a higher asking price in, taking both Peters advice and my Wife's, hoping that he the builder would be willing to haggle a bit on the price and finally it will be sold, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush so to speak, I hope I haven't ruined it.
Thank you so much for your prayer,s they are more valuable than silver or gold, Alan![]()

Hello, thank you for your prayers,Brenda has an appointment this Wednesday 30TH May to see the oncologist regarding further treatment.Brenda said she feels well beyond were she should be, and we realise its to do with prayers and the fact that Jesus hears your prayers and all glory goes to Father God for his mercy. I was saying to my friend the other day this experience has caused me to think about prayer and praying more than ever before. I have found writing my prayer requests anonymously an enjoyment, and Jesus see's what I write without anyone else knowing, so fulfilling praying in secret, for me. Kindest regard's Alan![]()
