If you don't believe Jesus is alive today (in whatever type of body ... but as HIMSELF and not "dispersed" in other people) ... how can you be a Christian? A Christian by definition is a disciple and follower of Jesus Christ. If Jesus doesn't exist as Himself ... how can you follow Him? How can you believe in Him if you believe there isn't really a "Him"?

    Think about it ...
    Even so, come Lord Jesus!

Paul answered the question of the bodily resurrection of Jesus 2,000 years ago, and he spoke very clearly and plainly on the matter. You can find it in 1 Corinthians 15. Jesus rose bodily from the dead. He did not rise with an earthly body, He rose with a glorified body, but it was a body nontheless. The gospel writers tell us that He was seen, heard, and even touched, ( He had to tell Mary Magdelene to stop clinging to Him), and that He showed the wounds in His hands feet and side. He ate with the disciples. If you believe the Bible, the issue is very clear If you don't believe the testimony of the apostles, you cannot be a Christian, for John said that everyone who is of God heareth us ( that is to say the apostles.)

Anyone who is uncertain about what the Bible says about Jesus' resurrection, please read the Gospels, the book of Acts, 1 Corinthians 15, and the first epistle of John, and may God grant you understanding.

    God Bless
1 John 1:7- But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

2 Corinthians 7:1- Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

    Amen.
If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. But when you ask him, be sure that your faith is in God alone. Do not waver, for a person with divided loyalty is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is blown and tossed by the wind. Such people should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do. (James 1:5-8)

When we stand before the Judgment Seat, we will have retained only two things from our earthly life: what God gave us, and what we did with what He gave us.

Luke answered the question as wel!!

Luke 24: Luke 24: 36 While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you." 37 They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost.38 He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? 39 Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself ! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have."40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. 41 And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, "Do you have anything here to eat?"42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43 and he took it and ate it in their presence.

Yes, I agree, the water was symbolic. Jesus never walked anywhere. (I think He took a ferry, if I'm not mistaken.)

I tried to rep you but I have to spread some around first.

Was it symbolic when he sunk?

I'm guessing this is a serious question. I would think if walking on the water (sea) is taken as being symbolic then Peter's sinking in the water would also be symbolic. In this his sinking would be symbolic of his indecision of what to believe. 'You of little faith, why do you doubt'. As mentioned in pervious post water (sea) is symbolic of gentile nations which know not God and have been carried away with every wind of doctrines.
