My favorite scripture: Malachi 3:16
"Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name!" (Every time we speak of the Lord, or even THINK of him--its written down in a book of remembrance!)
Encouraging news. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, a very interesting read. Now we shall see how his wife reacts.
Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.C.S. Lewis

For any that are interested, here's a link to another atheist conversion in the last six months of a guy that was vocal about atheism and wrote about it and now wrote about his conversion to Christianity.

I find it interesting that both men were able to suppress the truth for some time. Both had a nagging suspicion they did not want to deal with. Honest research often leads to the truth. Another thing I find fascinating, it wasn't facts that swayed the first guy, but a miracle after seeing love at work. I think the same thing happened to Paul. He saw Stephen with love and it convicted him to the point that Jesus said "it's hard to kick against the pricks".
The second guy shows the proper role for apologetics. He was given answers.
I think both cases show that salvation is a miracle to be experienced rather than an argument to be won. Thanks for posting them.

"The Post reports that he may become a part of a liberal congregation and that he may even start his own chapter of the Rainbow Baptists, a ministry to the LGBTQ community. Greene says that he believes the Bible’s original approach to homosexuality has been altered and that he feels strongly about rectifying it."
Yeah, I don't know about this... More new-age feel-good Christianity?
John 10 (KJV)
27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
Give him time before drawing a conclusion. He's just recently professed and that is a huge step from atheism. The Lord corrects us all eventually, and especially so on major issues. The Lord led Israel south away from the Philistines when he brought them out of Egypt because they were not yet ready for war. New believers sometimes take a while before God leads them to deal with major Philistines in their thought processes. He did knock 2 kings out of the way right away. And we see that too. Someone gets saved, and 1 or 2 major sins go away. But then, it's a while before the Lord sets in on some of the deeper issues.

The Holy Spirit will know when it's time for him to deal with those issues. We don't expect newborns to behave like adults at 1 day old. It's the same with new believers. He just repented of major unbelief against God and has begun to trust in Christ. That's worth rejoicing over!

Great observations, Mark. I think these things show the need for both orthopraxy and apologetics. A lot of people downplay apologetics, but we can't just cut 1 Peter 3:15 and other verses out of our Bible. We are commanded to have answers. However, some with the apologetic bent can forget to be loving in practical ways. A balanced Christian should have both aspects as part of their life.
Also, we shouldn't set the bar so high that we don't try one or the other. We can't all be Mother Teresa and we can't all be William Lane Craig. Those two are like the $6M figure in each category. So maybe I'm not a million dollar apologist or philanthropist, but I can be worth a few bucks in each direction.

I wondered about that too, but then I remembered...If God was able to pluck him out of atheism, then he's surely able to direct his steps! The steps of a good man ARE ordered by the Lord. I'm praying God will continue to 'open his eyes' to see right.
Just think, this is a man going blind, but now he can say, 'I once was blind, but now I see!' (But not with his physical eyes.) I'm also praying for that man's wife!

Great idea! Yes, we can do that, too! I wonder if he has kids we can pray for, too?
Oh gee, funny thought: Wouldn't prayer just be considered, at this point, to be "magic"? Since we are, after all, plotting against him by prayer... I love plotting to pray for his whole family, that the truth be revealed to them. Such a great feeling to love another person enough to want them to know the truth of Jesus.

"Direct his steps" is a good way to look at it. Our walk with the Lord is often a long on going one. No one who is saved instantly becomes a theological powerhouse. God (in my experiences) has us look at things one at a time and works on us with them.
Ceegan, the red flag that went off is a good thing. You noticed the potential problem with what the article said and noticed a need that this man obviously needs further work which the Lord shall provide. Let us remember the Corinthian church. It seems if it wasn't directly addressed to the church in the opening few verses that we would forget they are Christians because of the behavior. New Christians need work. Think of a potter molding clay into a vessel of honor. It takes a bit of time to smooth everything out so that is in proper working order.
Thanks for the encouraging read Mawma!
