Thread: Why are we not taught about Jesus & God in World History?

  1. #1

    Exclamation Why are we not taught about Jesus & God in World History?

    If the rising from the dead of a man and how the universe came into existence are such important parts of history, then why aren't we taught about these things in World History classes? I know it's easy to say because of separation of church & state. But if a man rising from the dead and how the universe came into existence are so well documented and so important, then why do they fall under "church" and not "state" when it comes to determining if they should be taught about in public school?

    The bible says "God created" but doesn't say how God created. The bible isn't taught in schools any more because of the lies of Satan, which tell you that science (which is has laws, and boundaries) proves that there is no God, despite the fact that God is above the laws that He created. If He is (and indeed He is) the very definition of infinity, being omnipotent and all that neat stuff, then no wordly "proof" which is bound by the laws of physics could "prove" an infinite God. We only have pieces of the puzzle, but that's proof enough for me.
    John 10 (KJV)
    27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
    28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
    29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

    I believe that, searching the history of the public school system a hundred years ago and before that; these things were taught in the public school system. It is because of our court system and people complaining that it got taken out. Satan has won a few rounds in his attempt to remove God from our minds, but the war is already won. We still go on fighting the skirmishes as we are commanded to do, but in the end; all will be rectified.

    I believe that any decent World History class would mention that there are second hand accounts of someone named Jesus rising from the dead during the first century and that this had profound effects on the history of the world. What you will not hear are pronouncements of the truth of these accounts, as such claims must, of necessity, rest on faith.

    I'm unaware of any World History classes that deal with the origin of the universe, though if one did I don't see why it would mention any particular god.

    It really boils down to the purpose of education. If the purpose of education is to propitiate religious beliefs then I expect you will find religious schools that teach articles of faith, such as the divine creation of the universe and the deity of Christ, taught as historical facts. If, on the other hand, the purpose of education is to teach students about what we know of the universe and our actual circumstance then I expect you will find something far different

    ABE: "Lies of Satan!" Lol.

    I taught world history to 6th graders for several years in public school. I did indeed teach about Jesus Christ. He was in the public school textbook. I also taught the two other major world religions - Judiasm and Islam. They were also in the textbook. We did an overview of what each religion believed and practiced.

    Straight answer?

    Joh 15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

    Joh 15:24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

    Joh 15:25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

    Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God isrevealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, whohold the truth in unrighteousness;
    Rom 1:19 Because that which maybe known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
    Rom 1:20 For the invisiblethings of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understoodby the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that theyare without excuse:
    Rom 1:21 Because that, when theyknew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vainin their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
    Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
    Rom 1:23 And changed the gloryof the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and tobirds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
    Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gavethem up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonourtheir own bodies between themselves:
    Rom 1:25 Who changed the truthof God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

    Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

    Re: Why are we not taught about Jesus & God in World History?

    Because History and science deal in evidence and Religion deals in faith. The evidence that Jesus rose from the dead is, to my knowledge, reported only in the bible and since religious texts are only reliable if you've made the decision to believe everything, it has no place in a textbook. Likewise the origin of the creation can only be taken from the bible if you've already decided to believe the bible.
