Why are Christians so evasive?

If you see the word: "coffee break" under their name, it means their privilige to post has been removed for some period of time.

I've asked many Christians many questions about God, the Bible, miracles, etc. I repeatedly get very evasive answers - or the Christians get angry. It seems to me that 'God' is just a metaphor for something else, but Christians won't explain what it really is. So how does it help the overall agenda of Christians to be evasive or get angry when confronted with questions about their faith?

I'm aware that the OP is on Coffee break and that the thread isn't all that recent, but am I the only one noticing that OP's question is a loaded question?
He's simply declaring Christians to be evasive and then asks us to explain this. I'm sorry but why should we accept such a built in assumption in his question?
I've had many discussions with atheists who seem evasive and I'm sure there are some evasive Christians... Conversely there are Christian apologist who publishes books and articles in response to questions and travel to universities to deal with objections or questions. Likewise there are those who act as apologists for atheism.

Ultimately, what exactly is the question meant to achieve? Is Christianity supposed to be proven untenable if some Christians were evasive?
Ultimately the question seems to be somewhat of an underhanded jab at Christianity and nothing more.
