Help How does God "show" himself to you?

I am agnostic but have felt drawn or "pulled" toward seeking whether or not a god exists. I've read websites such as godandscience.com, watched videos from "The Atheist Experience" channel on YouTube, and watched eyewitness accounts and testimonies. I've also tried praying. I feel that the only thing preventing me from believing is not seeing some kind of evidence of God. Could it be that I have too much pride and cannot accept the evidence? I don't think that's the case; its just that for what ever supporting evidence there is for God there are facts against it. There seems to be a never ending knowledge war that causes me to doubt

Hey Firemage64, welcome to this message board!

Immediately upon reading your post, this scripture came to mind:

John 20:24 Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. 25 The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.”

So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”

26 And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!” 27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”

28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”

29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas,[d] because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

Belief is about "faith" and faith comes by "hearing" the Word of God:

Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Now... "faith" is defined as this in the Bible:

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

So.... God will reveal Himself to those who seek Him but He wants you to "want" Him for WHO He is, not for what He can "do" to make you want to believe in Him.

Crack the Bible open, I will suggest reading all the Gospel of John first.

    Yes, faith comes from hearing.

You say you feel drawn/pulled. Could you even say, you hear it?

    Romans 10
17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

It's never been hard for me to believe in God. It's simple science, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. It's called the big bang theory. Something big, caused something big.

That's hard evidence for me. Now you need to go and find the rest of the story since the begining. In the Bible.

May God be with you my friend.

What do you mean by this? What are the supporting evidences that you've considered for God, and what are the facts against this.
How do you define "facts"? And how do you define "evidence"?

I honestly feel His love, deep within me. When things happen that would nornally upset or hurt me, on a human, flesh level, I have a peace that I could never have without something holy and supernatural. I also see God's promises kept in my life. We may be poor in financial terms but we never go without food, clothing, shoes, warmth. Our house payment is always paid. He takes care of us in ways that only God can and it has built my faith so much. I pray you continue seeking and find His love, through Jesus Christ.

Have you read the Gospels? Have you read the righting of the Apostles?

Hearing Gods message can have a very convincing effect on those who are open to the Love of His truth.

People also get confirmations from dreams and happenings in their lives. Sometimes these events are dramatic sometimes they are subtle but often they are enough to move people in their journey towards understanding.

I wouldn't look at the gospels as if they are in some sort of chronological order. They all tell the same account from differing views.
