Does numbers 5 support wife beating? Could the jealous husband BEAT his wife into going before the priest if he thought she cheated on him if she refused?
Why couldn't the jealous wife do the same thing if she though her husband cheated on her?
Does GOD really thinks it's okay for husbands to cheat on their wives? Does HE enjoy punishing the wife for her husband?
Do we still have to keep the law of Numbers 5? If not when when did it stop?

So sorry if i sound repentative but i have some important questions? What could a jealous wife do if she thought her husband was cheating on her? Let's say i was from back when that painful abusive law too place, and i say my husband flirting with some woman infront of me and go into a room alone with her? What could i do? What would GOD do for me? Is there anything the lealous wife could do? It makes me feel like GOD really enjoys punishing the wife for her husband and that HE thinks it's okay for a man to cheat on his wive behind her bacK?! Sorry it just seems unfair and abusive that the jealous wife couldn't do anything!!! It hurts even worse knowing that GOD enjoyed punishing the wife under her husbands authority? What if her husband beat her? Or disrespected her? What if the other man treated her better? What about the poor jealous wife? Does her body literally rot or just make her not be able to bear children? It's because of this chapter that i feel GOD likes abusing women? HIS WORD abuses me everyday? A wife couldn't divorce an abusive husband but a husband could divorce his wife for anything btw. That is totally BIBLICAL!

No.... What you are doing is falsely accusing your Lord.... He has done nothing to you.... You really need to snap out of this.... If you really are a Jesus lover you know beyond doubt that He came to bring you life and that more abundantly.... I honestly think you are a babe trying to gum a very meaty scripture.... You need to start in the gospels.... Get to know the real God.... Jesus said if you have seen Him then you have seen the Father....

in Numbers 5:5-10 it is discussing resitution for wrongs. It includes the man AND wife. Just sayin.

Also, JESUSLOVER. We are all alike in the eyes of the Lord. Eve was created as a help meat for Adam. No where in the bible does it say women are second class citizens. The women of the OT had certain legal limitations under Mosaic law, but at the same time God commanded them to HONOR their mother, and if you did not it was considered a great dishonor. A husband and wife work TOGETHER, but also have differnet roles.

IF people in this day and age actually looked at the bible toward how marriage is to work there would be ALOT less divorce. We are not less than men, but their rock and their support. That right there takes a strong individual.

Also, read Proverbs 31 about the virtuous woman. You will see God does not see us as lesser to men.

Thanks for your answer MyCoolUsername. When i first became a JESUSLOVER i did read only the new testament. Years later i read the old too. I don't know why i feel inferior to men because of the BIBLE? I guess i am taking these verses outta context? i really AM a JESUSLOVER! this might be satan or my own mental illnesses attacking me right? i remember fearing i was demon possessed or committed blasphemy the HOLY SPIRIT once. I am also glad for your support for me another fellow christian. Sadly most christians attack and judge other christians. No wonder we are mocked. Maybe it is wrong for me to ask the questions i am asking? If it is i will stop. I don't want GODs wrath poured out on me. I will read Proverbs 31 thanks.

If you are seeking knowledge then ask away. If ANYONE tells you that you are wrong in asking questions about the bible because you want to know the truth then maybe they need to take a step back and look up a few scriptures on encouraging others.

I agree! Thanks for your compassion Sisda in CHRIST ALMIGHTEE. I should try to build up the Bretheren too. But sometimes i can be emotional and rash. Couple of my many flaws. I feel i fail and dissapoint GOD all the time. Then i hate myself again. I'll ask you then? I love the LORD and want to please HIM but i always fail HIM! How do i get out of this tormenting cycle? i hate myself for doing that to the LORD and i hate feeling terrible all the time!

First off you are being way too hard on yourself. Calm down. Take a deep breath and relax. Always remember that God is a forgiving God, and he is most certainly a loving God. He knows his people fall short, and struggle at times. Sending his son is what saves us. When you make a mistake ask for forgiveness. Learn from your mistake and you will grow and be stronger.

Think about it this way.... God is our father, right? Well, look at is from an Earthly father standpoint. When you misbehave do your parents stop loving you? No! They will correct and reprimand you to teach you a lesson, but they do not turn their backs on you(if they are a good parent that is).

I have an issue with anxiety, and one thing that I tell myself is worrying goes against God. He takes care of us. He knows our needs, and our desires. He will not give you more than you can handle, and he is ALWAYS there. When I tell myself that I always feel better. Worry and anxiety never helps anything. It is bad for your health too. So, try to relax if possible, and know that you are a blessing and a gift from God. Don't be so hard on yourself.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:6-7).

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones” (Proverbs 3:5-8).
