Actually, Lively DID travel to Uganda. He met with the legislators weeks before they crafted the law(s).
This is an informative article:

Let's be honest, this is only news because it's a Christian who is condemning homosexuality.
Gays are routinely stoned to death is Arab and Muslim countries. Who cares?
Hear the word of the Lord, O nations, and declare it on the islands from afar, and say, "He Who scattered Israel will gather them together and watch them as a shepherd his flock."
Jeremiah 31:9

Oh, I agree. But we "expect" that from Muslims - that's all a part of their religious views/practice. But Christians are supposed to be forgiving. I don't know what type of government structure Uganda has but I don't think it's a religious based one as most of the Muslim countries are.
Not sure if that made sense or not...

Fenris, I am not a Muslin by choice. I do not live in Muslim counties by choice. I think their way of life is very restrictive, especially for women.
That does not mean I have a right to tell THEM how to live. I live where I do for a reason.
Does that help you at all?

A spirit is characterized not only in what it does, but, no less, by what it permits, what it forgives, and what it beholds in silence.
-Rabbi Baeck
Apparently nowadays we are willing to behold great crimes in silence in the name of "multiculturalism."

You're doing the same thing the CCR is doing: ascribing an outlandish level of power and influence of a foreign individual over the Ugandan government. One more time....the OP concerns the foolishness of charging someone with "crimes against humanity" for preaching against a sexual sin that is the primary cause of the AIDS epidemic in Africa. And frankly, anyone who sees the validity of that ridiculous premise is not someone I feel I can have a rational or fruitful exchange with.
When we stand before the Judgment Seat, we will have retained only two things from our earthly life: what God gave us, and what we did with what He gave us.
That's interesting and all, but the government is the one who decided to make the laws as harsh as they did. Lively didn't recommend that they should do that. He has every right to have, and express, his view of homosexuality. He's not responsible for what Uganda decides to do in regards to crafting laws to run their country.![]()
