Prayers for Mom and her siblings, and guidance.

    Hi,

My Grandma passed away Sunday. I am torn between needing to stay home for particular reasons and also feeling a great need to go to my Mom to help her in any way I can, as she is heavy burdened with grief....my Grandmother died in her arms.
I also have a desire to be near the rest of my aunts and uncles during this time, to be there for them, and for my own grief process.
There is so much to share about what a wonderful light she was to me in my life.

So I am asking first for prayer for my Mom, her brothers and sisters, and guidance in deciding what He wants me to do.
I know I have free will to choose for myself, but I would be more comfortable knowing He was in the middle of the decision.

    Thank you
    Peace to You!

I posted this 1 hour and 25 minutes ago?

He works really quick sometimes! I guess He knew as much as I did the time sensitiveness of it. Thank You Lord, and thank you to those who brought this to Him as well!

My Mom called a few minutes ago, and I told her about how I felt I couldn't be in two places at one time. This is when she asked if I would write something for someone to read at the funeral, and I was like yes yes yes, because I had already thought of this! So many stories and funny memories and wonderful things have been on my mind since she died, that bring good tears. And I was able to read her obiturary while talking to my Mom, we both read it for the first time...and we were both crying, so even if far away, we were together.

    God is so wonderful.

    Peace to You!

Times like these are when I stand on this scripture and praise God for His faithfulness. To be a strength and comfort for those around when there is no strength
and comfort from anyone else to our own hearts except the Lord.

Ecc 7:1 A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth.
Ecc 7:2 It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.
Ecc 7:3 Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better.
Ecc 7:4 The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth.
There is no other circumstance in life that is more fertile for spreading the comfort of God than during times of loss.

Asking the Lord to make His Will for you abundantly clear. And thanking Him for modern technolegy that enables contact with loved ones who are long distances away. (Skype is a real boon at times like this)

I am so sorry to hear about the death of your precious grandmother. She must have been a very special lady! You, your mom, and your family has my prayers, friend! Again, I am so sorry. Wish I could do or say more........
    My favorite scripture: Malachi 3:16

"Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name!" (Every time we speak of the Lord, or even THINK of him--its written down in a book of remembrance!)

Grandmothers are very precious instruments God places in our lives. I am very sorry for your loss.

I pray that God will give you clear wisdom and guidance so that you will know what to do.
    Jeremiah 29:12
"Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you."

    Philippians 4:5-7
5Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Re: Prayers for Mom and her siblings, and guidance.

My Grandmother had 7 children. 6 now living, with 10 living grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Her oldest daughter and son in law (my mom and her husband) spoke at the funeral yesterday.
My Mom read what my brother and I sent to her to share (eldest grandchildren) and her youngest child (my aunt) read a poem that my grandmother wrote to my brother and I when we were little that she found while going through her personal belongings.

I found it facinating, that while my brother and I could not attend, for different reasons, our hearts and thoughts were fully present.
    He worked these things out.
I was able to watch the funeral photo video this morning on the funeral home website of my Grandmother from her youth until her present age, as I woke up teary thinking about her.

She was almost always smiling. She may have been poor in material things, but she was rich in Gods love--- His love and in heritance through her continues through the generations.

    Thank you again.
    Peace to You!
