Since I know there's gamers here of the female persuasion as well as the menfolk, this is now a co-ed thread where all BF gamers can unite and share.
So I'll start off with: What's your favorite video game of all times, and why?

Dani H is a gurl gamer. I approve of the phenomena and would give her 10000000 rep points if I could.
I don't know if I have a favorite of all time. There's just games I play a lot until I get bored and move onto something else.
Right now I'm playing Dungeon Defenders. It's a hybrid tower defense/action RPG. It's surprisingly good, although their network seems to boot me about once an hour.
Hear the word of the Lord, O nations, and declare it on the islands from afar, and say, "He Who scattered Israel will gather them together and watch them as a shepherd his flock."

My favorite game of all times must have been World of Warcraft because I played that for about 6 years (2005 til 2011) and might just get the expansion that's supposed to come out this year too.
Far as RPGs go, Skyrim hands down. Then again I hadn't been playing RPGs since the days of Super NES so there's probably some variety missing. Kingdom of Amalur was also pretty good.
Also love the "Age of ..." PC games (Empires, Mythology). Played through pretty much all those, in god mode of course. Meteors, red trucks, blue sports cars and earthquakes? Yes please. Those ancient civilizations never knew what hit them.![]()
Even so, come Lord Jesus!
Oh wow. Time for a list![]()
10 Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Nintendo 64) RPG/Adventure/Action.....I don't know. All and none of these.
9 Soul Caliber (Sega Dreamcast) Fighting
8 Madden NFL Football (PC/Sega Genesis/Playstation 1&2 & XBox & 360) Football
7 Neverwinter Nights (PC) RPG -MMO type
6 ESPN NFL 2K5 (Xbox) Football
5 Fallout 1&2 with an honorable mention of Fallout 3 (PC) RPG
4 Baldur's Gate 1&2 (PC) RPG
3 DOOM (PC) FPS
2 Deus Ex (PC) RPG/FPS
1 Final Fantasy III (SNES) RPG

RPG wise I would say either Final Fantasy 3 (SNES) Secret of Mana (SNES) or Earthbound. Seriously.... the Mother series needs more attention.
In terms of Platformer I would say Super Mario 3 with Super Mario for the SNES coming in at a close second.
Skyrim was good had and some nice grindy elements but the story didn't grab me. The detail and level of customization is nice. I'd like to play it on a high powered gaming rig with mods. There is a lot of potential there.
Currently my most played is borderlands. I've done multiple playthroughs on multiple systems.
Currently playing Rachet and Clank A crack in time.

I might have to get into Final Fantasy because I keep running across that name and am finding it quite alluring ...

I love JRPG's and Final Fantasy was the best of them. I would recommend starting with FF II (US) and saving FF III (US) for last because in my and many, many other FF fans opinions FF III is the best of the bunch. If you have an old Playstation or PS2 I would also recommend FF IX and X. Both are excellent games.
And if you find out that you like JRPG's Chrono Trigger is outstanding.

I loved FF3: one of my favorite games ever.
I also liked to play Swords and Serpents (NES).
Romance of the 3 Kingdoms (NES was cool, and then up to number 4. After that, it lost it's way to myself).
My kids got me into Champions of Norrad as well: cool game there.
I loved Dungeon Siege for the computer.
I enjoy strategy games, when I can play them.

Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to.C.S. Lewis

Do you mean Champions of Norrath on the PS2? If so then yeah that is a pretty cool game.
I'm still resisting picking up Skyrim. I am going to get it and when I do I'll play the heck out of it but I still have a backlog of other games that I bought when they were new and haven't had the time to play yet. I need around three extra hours past the regular 24 every day so I can play some games because snatching a free hour or two ever other day or so just isn't getting it LOL.

I absolutely loved FF12. Great story line, great battle system, great characters and very nice graphics. I also enjoyed the Growth system very much and thought that the license board was very cool.
Edit to add: For me personally FF12 was the last great game for the PS2 and it was an epic ending to an epic game system. If Square ever came out with a direct sequel (Which I highly doubt that they ever will) It would be a day 1 purchase for me and I'd probably take a weeks vacation just to play it.

Okay, this is just going to give away my age, but I used to go to the arcade when I was a young 'un and play pacman and centipede.
Then, as an adult, I absolutely ADORED the Resident Evil games, and one called Silent Hill.
But I haven't played video games in....well over 13 years.
Once, years after I had stopped playing them, I decided for the heck of it to dust off my playstation and see if Resident Evil was still so awesome and the first zombie that grabbed me almost gave me a heart attack and I realized I was too old to be scared like that and plus I peed my pants, and it just wasn't worth it anymore.
