I'm a married father of 3 (hopefully 4 in the not-so-distant future). My older 2 kids are adopted stepkids and I thank God for the opportunity to fulfill the role of father in their lives. I have a BS in Math (U. of Central Arkansas, GO BEARS!) and an MS in Mechanical Engineering (Texas A&M, GIG 'EM AGGIES!). I was saved and baptized (by Mike Huckabee!!!) at 6. I grew up in SBC churches but am now a member of an ABA church called Lifepoint Baptist Church (Owasso, OK). I took Matthew 5:14 literally because I've worked in power plants since college.

I've always studied the Bible in pieces, but I'm getting very close to having actually read it cover to cover for the first time in my life. I love a good discussion on God's word, am happy to find a place where that's happening, and am looking forward to getting involved!

Shalom, welcome to the board, minor prophet. During the primary of '08, I saw the "Huckabeast"(Gov. Huckabee's tour bus) broken down on I-275 near my home. I gave the driver a lift to Murray's. I spent 20 bucks on a piece of brake line and two hose clamps, and told the driver to consider it a campaign donation!

Haha. Yeah, def not claiming to be a prophet . I chose chose that username because my actual first name is Joel, based on the minor prophet in the OT. Also one of my fav songs, by a band called "Haste the Day," is titled "The Minor Prophets."

[Hopefully we won't get into a heated philosophical discussion about the morality of Christian Rock ]. I also like to consider myself "minor" compared to God/Christ (kinda a prereq to being a Christian, right? ), hence all lowercase too.

Yeah, my wife actually took the kiddies to the science museum in Edmond a little while ago. Had a blast! Personally, I'm jealous of being so close to where the Thunder are playing their home games right now . Your username's pretty cool too!
