In my paratrooper days (98-05) we routinely trained with our Russian equivalent. These numbers (30,000) could be right, but I seriously doubt they will be trained at the same time. We simply don't have the training area or the infrastructure to facilitate that many people at one time. The logistics of something like that would be beyond our capabilities. Put it like this, we cant even train that many of our own troops at one time. Us Infantry units train in cycles. A brigade level training exercise (about 3000 troops) is as large a training event as most U.S. installations can handle. This would be too dangerous, too unwieldy, too expensive, and way too unpopular to pull off.

The people of the state of wisconson have more firearms than the entire Russian army.
Unhappy is he who mistakes the branch for the tree, the shadow for the substance.
Naw...its just a remake of Red Dawn! One reason they're trying to disarm us, they're being da gubmint, is that they know there is an army of ~7 million hunters in this country. A government that distrusts its citizens is not trustworthy.![]()
Sunset remembers Eden...sunrise prophesies its return.
If you follow the links back to "the blaze", the reporter called in to the military spokesman and was called back by a colonel who was part of the arrangements. He says it is 20 troops, not tens of thousands, and that no building or systems will be taken over. I can't find any website independently the original story run by the EU times.
