Love and the Deity of Christ



Mat 22:37 Jesus said to him, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.'
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like it: 'You shall love your neighbour as yourself.'
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets."


Jesus said that all the law and prophets hang on these 'two' commandments.


Love God, love your neighbour as yourself.

There are some who claim to be Christian, but sadly they deny (or doubt) the deity of Jesus Christ.


So I would ask them, 'how do you love the Lord'?

Do you love Him as 'God' (first and greatest commandment) or do you love Him as your 'neighbour' (second commandment)?

Was doing a study on Mt 22:37 last week, and that verse is very powerful.

Mat 22:37 Jesus said to him, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.'

Soul G5590 (Psyche) By implication (Spirit)
Mind G1221 (Diaola) The faculty of the mind. By implication understanding, imagination.

Also in Mark 12:30 adds stregnth G2479 (Ischus) literally or fig: Ability, might, power, stregnth.

So it comes out as : Love the lord with all your thoughts and feelings of the mind, with all your spirit and with all your understanding, Ability, might, power, stregnth.

So I was thinking last week, do I love the lord with my thoughts and feelings, do I love God with my spirit as in spiritual worship, do I love god with my ability, in whatever might power and stregnth that I can?

I am still thinking about it this week.
