Yes, because the Lord's return is going to be all about you.

Having said that ... today would have been the perfect day for Him to return. Yesterday would have been even better. But ... not so much.

    How long, oh Lord?

You would think 2000 years would be long enough. Then again from the time of the first prophecy in Genesis to Jesus' actual birth was ... rather long too. So ... yea.
    Even so, come Lord Jesus!

I'm with Athanasius on this one. It could be today or it could be 100,000 years from now. Our society currently is no worse than many societies of the past and in many respects is far better. Every generation thinks the changes they see happening are a horrible moral decline, when in actuality most are simply changes. Just ask your grandparents about the prevailing opinion of rock and roll when it first got started well. As to the idea that we have finally reached a level of technology to allow the infrastructure necessary for the scenario of the return, again, every generation has thought this. We can't even begin to imagine some of the advancements in technology that we will see in 100, 1000, or 10,000 years. And then people in those times would look back and say how crazy we were to believe that ours was the age with the required infrastructure and technology. I'll keep living as if it is today, but I won't expect it in my lifetime.

That's why I put that face with the post.

I believe that no man will know the time. It's just interesting the attempts to do so.
It says in the Word that no man will know the time, which begs the question, WHY does man TRY to know the time by "prophecy"? IMHO, these "prophets" are not doing justice to the Word when they attempt to guess when He is coming back.

To the topic at hand, I am not convinced that Jesus will come back before I am no longer on this earth. I do not know for sure, but since NO MAN knows, I'm not going to try and guess

I believe the signs were given to first century believers to prepare them to anticipate the timing of Christ's coming in judgment on apostate Israel in 70 A.D, the final sign being the surrounding of Jerusalem by the abominable Gentile/Roman armies that would soon desolate Jerusalem.

No signs were provided for His parousia/second personal coming to earth. No one but speculators can anticipate the timing for that event.

Interestingly, contrary to popular thought, earthquakes and disease and wars have not been more frequent or devastating than in other eras...and that's despite enormous population growth.

Ok.. with that logic, explain the second coming of christ, satan being bound 1000 years, the saints reigning 1000 years, and the great white throne judgement. If you say that Revelation has already happened, please explain those things that have not happened yet.
